LOSS & SAFETY CONTROL OFFICER(HQSE Officer)
Responsibilities:
— Actively promoting all Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental initiatives and procedures
— Ensure that Safety Programs are in place and that it is being adhered to and Take necessary action whenever potential hazards are recognised or reported. Also instil ongoing safety awareness by means of meetings, posters and other materials e. g. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
— Conducting Safety Trainings on Employees on various Safety aspects including safety audits for their particular equipments. · Conducting risk assessments, safety critical task analysis, procedures development and preparing of safety plans. Also doing Incident and Accident investigations and Reports.
— Report all incidents, including Near Misses, through the proper channels, ensure all paper work is filled out correctly and forwarded to the Quality, Safety & Environment Manager as soon as possible.
— Establishing an Emergency Response/Evacuation Plan & Fire Drill and ensure that all personnel are trained and fully understand the correct procedures for these plans.

Main Duties
— Process control: by closely monitoring plant parameters and ensuring that they are within the specified ranges so that the quality of the product is maintained and both atmospheric and water pollution are controlled.
— Improve Plant efficiency: by using of initiative to identify technical problems affecting plant performance and carry out investigations e. g. using the laboratory tests and produce accurate reports.
— Safety: Ensure safety of subordinate personnel and equipment.
— Costs: Familiar with departmental cost control methods and their implications on production costs and doing all Metallurgical accounting and reports.
— Training & Projects: Initiate and train new recruits. Come up with projects to improve Productivity, Reduce Costs & provide a Quality Product. Projects to improve product Quality of Acid Concentration.
