6.Besides coal production, the job included the other production related
affairs such as:-

a) Perspective and Corporate planning for the company, area, and
individual projects.

b) Selling of coal and establishing logistics for coal as production and utilization points are distantly located. Also helping the consumers to arrive at conclusions under best economic considerations.
c) Introduction of continuous surface miners not only from point of selective mining but also from the angle of safety and environmental conditions. In fact, continuous surface miners in coal mines of India were introduced in India in 1997 only.

7.Coal mines under my control recorded an annual growth of 4% to 6% in
production over the years.

8.The mines used to record a profit of Rs. 60 to 70 crores annually and it
started recording a profit of about Rs. 278 crores which represented about 62.33% of total capital investment of Rs. 446 crores.

9.Production is must but Safety is first. A record winning of National
Safety Awards 6 times in a span of 10 years were won by teams led by
me.

10.Cost fetishism always over ruled my actions but there was no comprise
with safety, modernization and R&D.

11.World Bank guidance was followed in Toto in respect of reclamation with
creations of Gold Course, Recreation Centre and a Stadium.

12.Associated with a large number of disaster management teams following
fire, explosion & inundation. Following Orissa cyclone in 1998-99, works undertaken were applauded by all and mentioned in all newspapers.
