From 1986 to 1987, assisted geologist on a project in North Western Cape to drill and prove tonnage on an abandoned monazite mine. Duties included camp supervision. Grid survey over mine. Survey of old dumps and calculation of ore tonnages. Detailed sampling and mapping of ore in mine stopes with aid of radiometics.

Senior Field Officer, Union Carbide Exploration.
Sampled granites around southern end of Lake Malawi for tungsten skarn deposits.
Conducted a car-borne radiometric survey on northwestern border of Malawi.
Sampled a columbite working on the Malawi/Tanzania border.
Supervised ground logistics of a heli-borne radiometric survey on the escarpment between Kariba and Mana Pools in northern Zimbabwe. Assisted geologist with anomaly follow up.

1977 - 1982 South Africa
Senior Field Officer, Union Carbide Exploration.
Assisted geologist on uranium projects in the Eastern Free State. Duties included grid surveys. Supervision of percussion drill rigs. Percussion chip and radiometric logging. Siting of boreholes. Assisted geologist with core drilling.

1976 - 1977 South Africa
Field Officer, Union Carbide Exploration.
Assisted geologist on uranium projects in the Karoo. Duties included navigation and instrument operator on fixed wing radiometric surveys. Grid surveys. Borehole radiometric logging.
