Present areas of responsibility as a Process Maintenance General Foreman include mechanical and electrical maintenance and cost control for Newmont¡¦s Mill 2/5 mill circuit, South Area Primary and Secondary crushing facilities, Pit Dewatering, Tails pond and pumping, Central machine shop, and the Bioleach Facilities. Responsible for 8 supervisors/planners, 1 engineer, 40 mechanics, 15 machinists/welders, and 3 crane operators. Equipment in areas of responsibility include 28¡¦x10¡¦ MPSI SAG mill, three 14¡¦x28¡¦ AC pebble mills, two 13¡¦x18¡¦ Marcy ball mills, two 8 tank CIL circuits, a 54/74 AC Gyro, two 54¡¨ overland belts, three MP1000 cone crushers, two 10¡¦X24¡¦ Nordberg multi-slope screens, one 10¡¦X33¡¦ Siebtechnik multi-slope screen, numerous conveyors and feeders, 8 deep wells with 800-1500hp pumps, 12X14 Warmen tails pumps, multiple slurry pumps and all the equipment in the Bioleach Test Facility. During my tenure at Newmont, I have been involved in the maintenance of the mills at the Post Facility, the North Area Leach crushing facility, the South Area crushing facility and the Bioleach Test Facility.

Prior areas of responsibility as a Process Maintenance Supervisor/Planner included maintaining the crushing facility at NAL and the milling facility at Mill 4. Responsibilities included directing the maintenance work crews and planning for the day to day and long term maintenance at both sites. Planning with Mincom MIMS creating work orders for daily, weekly and long-term schedules. Equipment in areas of responsibility included an AC 22X8 Sag mill, an AC 14X28 Ball mill. Two AC 42-65 gyros, four Symons 7¡¦ cones (one short head and three standards), numerous conveyors and feeders and screens, GIW tails booster pumps and multiple slurry and fresh water pumps.

Prepare and manage multi-million dollar budgets for maintenance services in areas of responsibility. Over last five years, costs have been consistently maintained at or below the projected budgets.

Create and implement safety plans for the process maintenance departments that are under my supervision. I have been instrumental in reducing the medical reportable rate for my areas from 4.93 in 1998 to 1.25 in 2001 with no lost time accidents.

Accomplishments include receiving Site Management Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Safety for 1998-2001 as well as Nevada Mining Association 2001 Safety award for middle management. Increasing the Mill 5 Facility from 93% to 95% maintenance availability over the past 18 months. This was accomplished with a 20% reduction in manpower over the same time period. While at SAL I was instrumental in bringing the South Area Crushing Facility from 88% to 94.5% maintenance availability while remaining under budget. I have been one of the principle people in the start-up of the new Secondary crushing facility. I have been a principle member of our annual roaster plant shut downs with the last two downs having the most activities of any down at Mill 6. I have been instrumental in converting our Oxide mill into a Bio milling circuit. I am also a key member in implementing GMP practices at our mine site.

Area of responsibility included all piping construction and supervising pipe fitters and welders.

Accomplishments included installation and startup of the following projects at Newmont. The Carbon Regeneration Roaster at Gold Quarry, the secondary crushing system at North Area Leach and the Carbon Columns at North Area.
