Engineering Skills o Direct and develop workloads for electrical, mechanical mining and construction engineers, ensuring the information and direction of effort is focused throughout all aspects of the production process. Conduct and direct surveys and studies, ensuring projects and production levels are achieved.
o Analyse, interpret and modify engineering drawings and communicate with manufacturers and engineers to effect necessary design modifications.
o Analyse & plan projects, development & production with regard to short medium and long-term objectives.
o Conduct breakdown/delay analysis and initiate remedial and preventative action with production supervisors.
o Develop and use purchase order and cost code systems.
o Experience in project estimation and producing bids for contract work, carry out site visits.
o Installed computer controlled multi - conveyor & bunker systems.
o Roofbolt co-ordinator, initiate, install and operate a roof bolt monitoring program. Train workforce, install & monitor strain gauge, magnetic and physical extensometers.
o Initiate, install and operate a Routine Condition Monitoring department, predicting and reducing failures. Use & analysis of vibration, oil sampling and shock pulse equipment. Electric motor health monitoring.

Thyssen Mining Construction of Canada Ltd. (June 1995 to January 2003)

o Project Manager at Thyssen Mining head office in Regina, Saskatchewan. Bid preparation & site visits for projects in Canada and USA.
o Project Manager & Manager of Safety at Canadian Power Limited's Pingston Hydro Project, near Revelstoke B.C. (May to October 2002). Improve safety performances, develop and implement safety and work procedures. Inclined raise boring and rehab of bore hole, tunnel washing, 5ft diameter penstock pipe installation. Underground penstock plug installations. 50 year design life methodologies. Manage site on change over from completion of design / build contract to cost plus contract.
o Project Manager at Stillwater Mining Company's (Platinum/Palladium)Nye Project in Montana, U.S.A. (October 1998 & September 1999 to 2002). Development of over 54,000 ft of drift. Production mining using overhand cut and fill methods, in captive slusher stopes, narrow and wide vein scoop stopes, level services and raise work. Develop stopes for long holing. Mine construction including chutes, concreted rail, underground workshop, shotcreting, grouting. Management & organisation of diamond drilling crews and man camps. Management of safety system, liaise with MSHA. Revenue of US $42M, 160 on payroll o Project Manager at Cogema Resources' Cluff Lake project, northern Saskatchewan. (January 1998) – Production mining of underhand cut and fill narrow vein stopes for Uranium ore. Liase with client, government & federal mine inspectorates during major changes to operating standards. Development & raise bore work. Surface raise landing & main fan installation. Develop & implement new underground radiation reduction methods. Indigenous workforce considerations. Mini Jumbo operation & use of membranes for ground support.
o Implementation, Design & Roll-out Team - AS400/J.D. Edwards at Thyssen Corporate Head Office (January 1997 & March 1999) - Design & rollout of Purchasing, and Job Cost modules. Developed Inventory module. Initiation of Lotus Notes document database.
o Project Manager at Lytton Minerals' Jericho project in Northwest Territories. (January 1996) – Project & site manager of Kimberlite bulk sample project from volcanic pipe located 45km below Artic Circle, 15,000 tonnes ore extracted. Mining through perma-frost conditions. NWT indigenous & local workforce considerations. Experience in environmental constraints for work on tundra, fly in / out projects & winter ice roads.
o Project Manager at Cameco Corporation's McArthur River project, northern Saskatchewan. (June 1995) – Shaft sinking, level development, road header & drill blast development, grout covers. Experience covers the installation of ventilation & water drainage requirements for Uranium development project. Indigenous workforce considerations.

Depot Supervisor at Grant Lyon Eagre's (British Steel plc), London Underground Rail Replacement/Upgrade Project. UK. (January to May 1995) – Replacement of existing surface & underground track & sub-grade to high-speed standards. Shift depot management and rail / road logistics management for 24 hour, 7 day week operations. Implement equipment security system. Compiled the company's first site safety information database.

Bank Clerk at Royal Bank of Scotland Ltd. Doncaster Branch, mortgage department. (August 1995). Compilation of documentation, liaison with finance companies, training and use of computer database approval systems.

Deputy General Manager at Monktonhall Colliery, Monktonhall Mineworkers Ltd. Edinburgh, Scotland (March 1994) - Experience in Deep workings, management of longwall face operation and drift development. Operation of small coal mine with very tight financial restrictions in poor sales climate.
