Computer-aided and manual resource calculation. Grassroots exploration: selection of prospective areas based on historic data and new exploration concepts, followed up by stream sediment surveys over thousands of square kilometers in high mountains, field reconnaissance, mapping and rock chip sampling in selected areas. The generative effort resulted in identification of a unknown promising sediment-hosted gold prospect. Evaluation of many submittals, including sediment-hosted, quartz-lode, copper-porphyry, skarn and volcanic-hosted gold mineralization. Office of up to 50 employees at one time. Developed good knowledge of Central Asian geology and mineralization styles, as well as of effective exploration tools and best management practice.
Newmont discontinued exploration in Kyrgyzstan (all of Central Asia) in 2002 and retrenched all staff.
