CURRENT EMPLOYMENT
Oct 2004 - Current: Contract Engineer & Director - Cawrse Consulting
I am currently working on a project to redesign BHP Billiton's Olympic Dam Mine. The scope of the project is to review and optimise the current mine design on a whole of mine basis, and to provide information of a standard suitable for 5 Year plan and 2006 Budget purposes. I envisage the project will be finalised by the end of April and I will be available for projects elsewhere.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Dec 2004 - Oct 2005: Production Manager - Roxby, Brambles Industrial Services
Brambles operated BHPB's backfill quarry and Cemented Aggregate Fill (CAF) Plant at Olympic Dam. We were contracted to crush approximately 6Mtpa of -75mm aggregate with four in pit mobile crushers, and screen 1Mtpa of dune sand. In addition, we campaign crushed various sized aggregate for civil works. CAF production varied but was as high as 200,000m³/month.
As production manager, I was responsible for production measurement and improvement, along with day to day management of operations in the absence of the Operations manager.

July 2004 - Dec 2004: Business Development Manager - Concrete, Boral
I developed forecasts for the concrete market in Adelaide's Metro and Outer Metro areas, contributed to Boral's metropolitan concrete business strategy including recommendations for acquisitions, greenfields sites and plant upgrades. I also produced capital expenditure applications for senior management approval.

Nov 2002 - July 2004: Planning Engineer - Quarries, Boral
I was responsible for all planning activities for quarries in South Australia & the Northern Territory. I coordinated drilling programs (both hard rock and sand), interpreted and digitised historical information, built geological databases and modeled resources. I also provided technical support to quarry personnel, including advice on extraction techniques, load and haul modeling, and geotechnical analysis. I also devised a gap analysis which is used as an internal auditing tool to test a quarry operation's conformance to statutory and company requirements.
I developed and maintained relationships with stakeholders, frequently consulting with land owners, government agencies, community groups, industry bodies and committees.
I was also involved with several quarry end use projects, submissions to government and strategic planning for the quarries business.

Feb 2001 - Oct 2002: Graduate Mining Engineer, WMC Olympic Dam Operations (ODO)
I was exposed to several areas of underground mining operations. The experience I gained is detailed below.

Surface Experience
Mine Technical Services - Mine Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
Design and planning work in northern section of the F area
Long hole stope, development, backfill and production ring design
Presentation and documentation of all design work
Maintain 2 year design front for scheduling
Ensure 5 year mine reserve is maintained
Monthly void checks - monitor and control hazards due to underground voids
Design of mine services

Underground Experience
I have experience in each of the four underground mining departments - services, production, drill & blast, and development that has provided me with invaluable operational exposure.
Dec 1999 - Feb 2000: Undergraduate Mining Engineer, WMC Olympic Dam Operations
I worked in the underground services division at Olympic Dam for two months, then in the Drill & Blast and Development sections for the last month of my vacation work period.
Sep 1996-Dec 2001: Youthworks Retail Company
Youthworks Retail Company was Adelaide's leading youth clothing retailer. I was involved with many aspects of the business, most notably information technology, menswear buying, sales, and management.
Feb 1994 - Nov 1996: Process Worker - Distribution Department, Arnott's Biscuits
My primary function was to manually load between 3 and 4 forty-foot trucks per day, with a crew of two others. Packing the trucks from floor to ceiling, we each moved approximately 60t/day. I also had the responsibility of sorting the loads so that the weight in the trucks was distributed correctly.
Feb 1992 - Jan 1994: Just Jeans
I was promoted four times in just under two years with Just Jeans, gaining my first management role when I was 17 years of age. I quickly progressed to managing larger stores, supervising up to 5 staff.

PUBLISHED PAPERS
Multiple Pass Floating Stope Process, Strategic Mine Planning 2001, Fourth Biennial Conference, Perth WA, March 2001
Excerpt from Abstract:
This paper introduces the Multiple Pass Floating Stope Process (MPFSP), which is a tool for underground mine design optimization. It extends and enhances the capabilities of Datamine's STPMOD (or 'floating stope' process). The MPFSP has been designed to:
1. provide the mine design engineer with an informative first pass evaluation of a geological block model;
2. produce a guide for detailed stope design; and
3. assist development planning and infrastructure positioning.
