Career Summary
Twenty years of mining experience gained from working in industry and from consulting. Thirteen years of direct operational experience that has encompassed underground mining as well as surface alluvial and marine diamond mining operations. Underground mining expertise includes conventional and mechanised techniques using open stoping, block caving, cut & fill and narrow reef stoping. Surface mining expertise encompasses open pit truck & shovel operations and alluvial mining techniques. I have understaken site visits to over seventy operations, some thirty of which have been gold mines or projects.

Expertise in undertaking technical and economic reviews of projects and mining operations and their quantification in terms of an economic valuation. Good understanding of Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve classification systems and their support to the valuation process. Fully computer literate and familiar with 3D mining software packages and GIS. Very good report and proposal writing skills and competent in the presentation of projects, concepts and results to industry executives, finance professionals and technical specialists.

A variety of earthmoving equipment (including truck and shovel, bucketwheel excavator, bowl scrapers, wheel loaders, bull dozers) and methods were employed and I also took responsibility for the planning, capital and operating budgets and personnel & training aspects necessary to support mining.

This was a particularly challenging period as there were many modifications and changes of scope necessary during and after the production build-up.
