ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Compilation of the annual audit plan, to ensure that audit assignments are adequately manned and that staff and auditing resources are adequately scheduled

* Reviews and checks accounting and financial management systems and procedures to ensure that financial records and books of accounts accurately reflect the financial records and books of accounts accurately reflect the financial position of the institution, comply with the statutory financial regulations and adhere to accepted accounting and financial conventions

* Development of operational systems in order to ensure their adequacy to prevent loss of funds by the Institution

* Recommendations of systems improvements to heads of Departments and the Audit Manager

* Checks and approves that payments are correctly allocated, within authorized limits and ensures they are valid, accurate and within procedural specifications

* Reports on the findings, conclusions and recommendation resulting from an audit or other investigations

* Report on risk analysis or identification of threats which would prevent the Institution from achieving it's objectives

* Supervise and develop junior members of audit teams
