* Tissue/Organ Recovery – The excision of bone, tendon, ligament, skin, vein, heart, osteo-graft, and other tissues under highly sterile conditions to be processed and distributed for transplant.
* Health and Safety – To ensure chemical, biological, and fire safety standards set forth by the FDA and AORN are adhered to and staff is trained for all emergency preparedness. Community initiatives to educate all ages about health related nutrition pertaining to the transplant industry.
* Expediting – Time and material management are the critical path focus necessary to optimize recovery. Ensuring documentation accuracy and SOP compliance for the timely release of tissue.
* On Site Documentation and Case Management – On site evaluation and compliance management of documentation. Ensure chain of custody protocols are adhered to. Manage corrective action planning program to document trend activity in relation to critical path. Create individualized reports/spreadsheets for key decision makers based upon their responsibility within the projects. Identify, document, and summarize improvement areas for documentation and process.
* Documentation Control – Q.A. all charts and review all pertinent medical and social history documentation to ensure timely release of tissue, expediting documentation to ensure bioavailability for surgeons. Assurance and adherence to FDA, AATB, GTP, EBAA, and GDP (good documentation practices).
* Quality/Process – 1 year of shadowing and complimenting consultant Dr. Sheldon Zink concerning communication center process realignment and implementation, database evaluation, reporting, developing, SOP writing, evaluating and injecting clinical relevance in relation to the scope of federal and industry standards.
* Tissue Coordination – Schedule, plan, evaluate, and manage caseload and coordinators.
* Harris County Medical Examiner Liaison – Maintain relationships with the medical examiner's office through influence without authority. Referral management and education for the HCME office.
* Financials – Hospital follow up and billing department coordination to ensure timely billing and P.O. accuracy.
* Education – Responsible for constant continuing education and team member skill development through in-house training simulation and lecture/presentation.
* Bonfil's Liaison – Responsible for all knowledge pertaining to serological and NAT testing under FDA and AATB. Blood borne pathogen training for clinical staff.
