I have some experience on almost all types of mining equipment, (partial list below), over my career and have been in both supervision and management of maintenance departments most of my career. Hands on training have been one of the methods I have used to develop a good productive team. As a graduate of Crosby's Quality College I believe in a team approach to problem solving, improving safety, and job processes. I have good people skills. My responsibilities have included both electrical and mechanical maintenance. My experience also includes large hydraulic shovels. I am very good at trouble shooting all types of problems. I have worked all over the world, have experience working with people in third world countries, and speak some foreign languages including French, Spanish and some African dialects as well. Mar. 1999-Mar. 2001 Service Advisor, Cummins Atlantic Inc, Columbia, South Carolina.
Responsible for customer satisfaction through the servicing of Cummins engines, Automotive, Industrial, and Mining. I have the responsibility of supervising 19 technicians including Team Leaders, shop, and field, as well as administering Warranty for Dealers throughout the state of South Carolina

Jan. 1997-Feb. 1999
Maintenance Superintendent, Drummond LTDA., Santa Marta, Colombia, S. America
Responsible for all maintenance functions on normal mining equipment in addition to an offshore fleet of barges, floating derrick cranes, tugboats, crew boats, and a barge loading facility. I designed and implemented the preventive maintenance programs and set up the record keeping system. I had the responsibilities seven American supv., eight Colombian Sup., 61 Colombian maintenance personnel including mechanics, welders, electricians, clerks, and a planner. I was hired as a maintenance supervisor and within six months was promoted to Superintendent.

July 1995-Dec.1996 Maintenance Supervisor, Ridgeway Mining Co, Ridgeway, South Carolina
Responsible for all mobile maintenance functions including preventive maintenance, repairs, outside contractors, purchasing, training, safety training and compliance, and record keeping. Contributions include training inexperienced mechanics to effectively maintain a fleet of aging equipment to be a safe, productive unit and reducing costs by reducing the use of outside contractors, negotiating a lower cost per hour, and finding viable alternatives for parts.

Jan. 1991-July 1995 Maint. Supervisor, Round Mountain Gold Corp., Round Mt., Nevada
Responsible for the maintenance and servicing of the shovels and drills including the supervision of mechanics, planners, and clerks. While in this position I often acted as superintendent with the responsibility of all mobile maintenance equipment, in a 24 hour a day 7 day a week operation, with 92 mechanics. Contributions include raising avail-
ability on the shovels and drills 15-17 percent, reducing costs across the board, and helping to implement a Crosby quality system, company wide. Equipment included most CAT
heavy equipment, including 994's and D11's, Hitachi and Demag hydraulic shovels, P&H
electric shovels, and Ingersoll Rand drills.

July 1983-Jan. 1991 Maintenance Superintendent, Cyprus Kanawha Coal Co., Mt. Carbon, WV
Reported to the Vice President of Operations and was responsible for the servicing and maintenance of all company equipment, 155 pieces of heavy equipment spread out over four job sites in one county and one site in another county. Equipment included most types of Caterpillar equipment with 785's, 789's, D10's, and D11's. Loading equipment consisted of Hitachi and Demag shovels and we had Ingersoll Rand and Driltech drills. Stationary equipment included crushers, a wash plant, and a barge load out at our river tipple. I managed four supervisors, a planner, purchasing, warehousing, clerical staff, and maintenance personnel. Contributions include reducing equipment and maintenance costs by 40 percent and decreased outside vendor maintenance labor by 90%.

Aug.1980-July 1983 Maintenance Superintendent, Plastics Universal Corp., Barbourville, Kentucky
Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager in the service and maintenance of all heavy equipment, namely 180 pieces of mining equipment spread over four job sites and a coal processing plant with a unit train load out facility. All maintenance operations were my responsibility as well as purchasing and warehousing. Contributions include setting up preventive maintenance programs and reducing our vendor labor costs by 94 percent without adding to the maintenance staff.

Nov. 1978-Aug. 1980 Service Manager, Kingsley Equipment Co., Lexington, Kentucky
Responsible for the service of heavy diesel equipment and the shops at four different locations. Set up preventive maintenance programs for the Kingco Rentals division of the company. Coordinated all company activities with the John Deere Co. with regards to warranties and service. Responsible for all field and shop service of new and used equipment.

Feb. 1977 - Nov. 1978 Service Manager, Kentucky Machinery Inc., Lexington, Kentucky
Reporting to the Vice President. Responsible for coordinating all field service needs of clients plus the training and supervision of 7 mechanics. Type of equipment serviced was large off-highway trucks, Fiat-Allis dozers and loaders, P&H Cranes, and coal processing equipment.

Nov. 1975 -Feb. 1977 Field Service Representative, Goodbary Engineering Co., Cardin, Oklahoma
Responsible for the maintenance of all coal operation equipment. Company was sold and they closed their eastern operation.

Oct. 1968 - Nov. 1975 Field Service Representative, Unit Rig and Equipment Co., Tulsa, Oklahoma
Responsible for trouble shooting, training, setting up maintenance programs, and assembling new equipment on a world wide basis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The equipment was diesel-electric and included 85-220 ton dump trucks, airplane tow tractors, and 60 ton forklifts. Left the company when contacted by a friend who had started his own company.

June 1965- Oct. 1968 Electrician, General Electric Co., Schenectady, New York
Worked in a machine shop for over a year and then transferred to the electrical maintenance department where I was called on to make emergency repairs on a 24 hour basis in addition to scheduled maintenance repairs.
