CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS

- During a 24 year career have been sent four times to a problem plant or problem departments. In all instances have successfully improved performance and brought the operation back in line with company goals and guidelines. Accomplished this through building a team from existing and new members. Have lead many change initiatives, including Predictive Maintenance Programs, Computerizing Production (from raw materials ordering to post customer follow-up), Oracle Accounting functions, and others.

- As Plant Manager of the Hagersville Plant of CGC, took over a plant at the bottom of the company's safety performance. Instituted a back-to-basics safety program and during 2006 surpassed 850,000 man-hours prior to a lost time accident.

- Re-invigorating the capital improvement process at the Hagersville Plant by developing and completing a new $12 million Distribution Center on site, to handle full product line distribution to the greater Toronto area. Developed a new $34 million synthetic gypsum drying and calcining system to handle the increasing usage of synthetic gypsum.

- As Plant Manager at the Fundy Gypsum Co., of USG, directed revitalization of our ship loading system, effectively doubling our capacity to handle larger ships during the tidal window of 4 hours. The ship loading capacity was increased to 20,000 tons per hour. Initiated the environmental impact report to open the first new quarry in thirty years. Met reduced rock cost goals for both years. Was responsible for a small remote Synthetic Gypsum processing plant in northern New Brunswick.

- Developed a continuous mining method to keep the Alabaster Quarry operational without additional capital for a new crushing and screening plant. Increased man-hour productivity by 18.8 % and reduced rock cost by 24% during 2002. Improved overall competitiveness by redirecting priorities and eliminating costly redundancies, inefficiencies, and excess expenditures.

- Developed technology and installed equipment to produce new direct sales products from the Plaster City Quarry in California. These products produced an addition $1 million in gross profit during the first year of operation.
