5/2007 to 4/2008: Mine Manager, Tony M Mine, Denison Mines (USA) Corp., Ticaboo, UT. Start-up of historic underground room-and-pillar uranium mine. Manage the mining contractor during the rehabilitation and production phases, with invoices to $1.5M/month. Develop mine forecasts and budgets. Select and order the mine mobile equipment fleet. Manage $6M of new surface infrastructure EPCM. Manage the installation of $3M in new housing for the mine work force, to include becoming a governing member of the Ticaboo Special Service District (TSSD). Maintained positive relationships with county, state and federal officials in a joint effort to create sustainable development for the region.
5/2006 to 5/2007: Principal Engineering Consultant, Underground Mining, SRK Consulting, Denver, CO. Consulting on all aspects of mining operations to include due diligence reviews, assist with Feasibility Studies and preparation of financial documents such as an NI 43-101.
11/2004 to 5/2006: Superintendent of Engineering, P.T. Freeport McMoRan, West Papua, Indonesia. Superintendent of Engineering for a $222 million dollar start-up of the Big Gossan open stope underground mine. Superintendent of Field Engineering Group. Supervise three Chief Mine Engineers, four Senior Engineers and eight engineering technicians. Responsible for QA/QC of multiple underground operations and for projects that introduce new technology into operations.
09/2003 to 10/2004: Senior Mine Engineer, American Gilsonite Company, Bonanza, UT. Technical support to the Vice President of Operations. Mine design, permitting, and reclamation of federal and state leases as well as private fee lands.
04/2003 to 09/2003: Mining Engineer, GS-12. Bureau of Land Management, Phoenix, AZ. Mining Engineer on the Native American Minerals Team (NAMT). Study and analysis of Native American issues. Production Verification of mining on Indian lands. Assist senior NAMT leader in Inspection and Enforcement of applicable regulations, including: Indian Self Determination Act and FLPMA.
05/2002 to 03/2003: Field Engineer, Obayashi/W.W.Clyde Co. JV., Spanish Fork, UT. Civil Engineering project by Bureau of Reclamation. Tunnel project involving multiple shafts and large diameter buried pipeline. Field Engineer doing design/build on roads, portals, tunnels, shafts, pipelines, reinforced concrete structures, shotcreting, grouting, and retaining walls. Earthmoving mass balances. Facilities design, drainage and pollution control. Write submittals, track costs and perform project estimating.
10/2000 to 01/2002: Senior Mine Engineer, Molycorp Inc., Questa, NM. Plan and schedule short and long term production for mine operations. Issue daily production orders, reconcile production to plans, geotechnical control and weekly drawpoint ore grade assays. Mine infrastructure design/build. Raise bore contractor supervision. Use of Surpac, mine software. Mine Rescue Team.
11/1997 to 05/2000: Mine Engineer, Stillwater Mining Company, Nye, MT.
Mine Construction Services Project Engineer- Design and supervision of installation of an innovative high-speed underground railroad system. Completely designed and supervised construction of the railroad dumping systems. Re-designed the mine water system, which contributed to an award from the Environmental Protection Agency. Designed underground mining equipment such as exploration drill rigs, rock hammer stations, ore passes, dewatering systems, and backfilling systems. 09/1995 to 11/1997: Mine Engineer, FMC Wyoming Corp. Green River, WY. Project Engineer/Rock Mechanics Engineer- Geotechnical analysis and design for underground room-and-pillar and longwall panel mine. Analyzed and selected primary and secondary ground support systems. Designed a mine-wide system of sumps, pumps and pipelines to assist in a new solution-mining program. longwall panel Foreman. State certified Underground Trona Foreman. Co-designed a patented new belt conveyor system.
06/1994 to 08/1995: Project Engineer, US Gypsum Co., Saltville, VA. All aspects of underground engineering to include, exploration, mine design, ventilation, safety, de-watering and standing in for the Mine Manager on an as-needed basis.
