Goro Nickel is a world-class mining project by any standard and a key part of Vale-Inco's growth strategy. It is located on the South Pacific island of New Caledonia, an overseas territorial community of France, Goro is among the best undeveloped laterite orebodies in the world, with excellent average grades, 55 million tonnes of estimated measured and indicated mineral reserves, and a very large resource base.
- Reports to the Lead Site Planning Engineer.
- Review and verify contractor's periodic schedule updates as they relate to the assigned facilities.
- Attend to the periodic Contractor's Progress Meetings and relevant project coordination meetings.
- Reconcile contractors' progress schedule with the monthly progress report and claim quantities. Inconsistencies, if any, to be reported to the Construction Manager thru the Lead Planning Engineer for follow up action with the contractor.
- Updating the Master Control Schedule as per assigned Facilities.
- Keeping the Lead Planner and Facility Manager abreast of concerns and/or potential problems and recommends possible solutions.

- Establish reporting tools, attend progress meetings and analyze critical paths and restraints to determine effect of change or deviation from the plan and recommend workarounds to mitigate impacts, and maintain an awareness of the risk profile of the schedule.
- Preparation of project budget, Work Breakdown Structure and Percent Weight allocations, project construction schedule (Level 4), overall manpower and equipment loading, develop histograms, s-curves and among others.
- Project tracking and monitoring, preparation of technical and project progress reports. Submit daily activity report and look ahead schedule as per contract requirement.
- Evaluation of change order request for client's approval. Other relevant engineering calculations and duties as directed by the General Manager, Projects & Estimation.
- Evaluate potential problems that maybe encountered by the project and recommend possible solutions to the Project Manager.
