Control the audits, including the investigation of old and abandoned areas and the possibility for any conventional vamping and/or pillar mining operations. Responsible for mechanised mining pillar extraction and the final reclamation procedures. Reconciliation of grade, tonnage, area mined and grade/dilution control. The updating of survey and geological plans on a monthly basis, as well as sweeping plans. Responsible for the quality of belt sampling and the recording of tons hoisted in comparison to tons trammed daily. Managing the entire surface and underground grade control process.

West Driefontein Gold Mine: Grade Officer / Senior Grade Control Officer - July 1994 to October1999

Control the quality of sweepings and extraction of ore, as well as the management of all shaft spillages and quality, valuation, placement and measurement of all vamping operations. Managing the department with four skilled and eighteen unskilled workers. Also responsible for the supervision of the headgear belt-sampling (valuation and daily reporting thereof). Surface grade control on waste dumps, slimes dams, backfill plant and general housekeeping of all surface mining projects (stockpiles and rail ballasting). Inspections in the gold plant and assay department and the valuation of the washing plant. Monthly management of all stoping and development estimation and achievement-reporting system.

Blyvooruitzicht Gold Mine to West Driefontein Gold Mine: Senior Valuator / Valuator - October 1985 to July 1994

Underground stope and development sampling. Managing the department with five skilled and twenty unskilled workers. Surface administration and supervision of sampling data capturing into database. Managing the entire sampling process and presenting results to junior and senior management. Monthly valuation of all mining operations by mining department and the reporting thereof to all parties concerned. Provide training to Learner Officials and novices on mining valuation.
