* Completed EHS compliance audits for several chemical, manufacturing, and food processing facilities in Mexico, including reviews of Mexican state and federal regulations regarding hazardous waste, water and air quality, as well as occupational health and safety requirements.
* Project management of several remedial projects related with contaminated soil with heavy metals and hydrocarbons. Projects include base line, site characterization, RBCA risk assessment,feasibility studies, and corrective actions
* Soil gas survey and hygiene labor monitoring in a packing plastic plant.
* Interior surface decontamination of a former batteries plant, supervision, wipe sampling, and report.
* Phase II ESA in a 28 hectares lot that was previously occupied by a lead and zinc smelter company, and where heavy metals concentrations above the established comparison criteria were found. A recreational park that will include a canal, parking lot buildings, roads, and commercial areas will be built there. The objective of this project was to develop a remedial action plan that is necessary to rehabilitate this estate, and which must be approved by the Mexican environmental authorities.

(ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATION OF HYDROCARBON CONATMIANTION PROJET FOR A PEMEX
PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX, POZA RICA VERACRUZ, MEXICO).
1992 - 1996
* A geochemical soil gas survey established the horizontal extent of the contamination with approximately 5,000 soil gas samples.
* To locate monitor wells and recovery systems, concentrations of C1-C5+ soil gases were mapped and integrated with the local subsurface geology to identify pathways defined by high concentrations of light gases and contaminants.
* Based on the soil gas results, 104 monitor wells were installed; 82 had significant concentrations of contaminants, with 63 having up to 2 ft of liquid hydrocarbons on the ground water.
* Design and operation of remediation systems, including excavation and disposal, vapor extraction, bioremediation, pump and treatment technologies
* Interceptor/recovery trenches, totaling 1600 feet in length and located on the basis of the soil gas survey, soil analyses and ground water analyses, recovered over 1,300 barrels of hydrocarbon products in less than one year.
* Operation of the recovery system and monitoring.

* Mining exploration preliminary feasibility report preparation of mining exploration, geological mapping, geochemical and geotechnical sampling. Inverse circulation and diamond nucleus samples description. Updating of the geohydrological layout base for the viability study for the water supply for the lixiviating system in piles. Aquifer hydrological evaluation, that includes the recharge, wells inventory and underground water availability.
