CAPSIAN VECO LTD (A CH2MHILL COMPANY) (2008 – PRESENT)
Construction Manager- PMT ($8.5 billion)
Vankor Oilfield Project- Krasnoyarsk Krai of Eastern Siberia, Russia
Member of the Project Management Team (PMT) for the construction of a new 350,000 bpd oilfield development for Rostneft. The 55 million man hour project consists of a 574 km main truck line pipeline with two pump stations and terminal facility. A central processing facility, crude topping unit, brine unit, gas compression facility, oil treatment, and water separation facilities. The CPF is fed by 15 well pads and 183 km of oil, water, and gas gathering lines. The infrastructure consists of the facilities support base with living quarters, warehouses, equipment and fabrication shops, gas treatment and distribution, and a 100MW gas turbine power station with substations and distribution lines.
ALASKA INTERSTATE CONSTRUCTION, LLC (AIC) (1996 – 2008)
Oil, Gas, and Mining Division Manager
Provided overall management of AIC's Oil, Gas, and Mining division. Managed over 400 employees including project managers, HSE supervisors, engineers and technicians while overseeing all aspects of the division including:
Ensuring scope of the project work was well-defined, managed and that cost and scheduled goals were met while maintaining an excellent Heath Safety and Environmental record.
Leading the development and maintenance of the appropriate bid proposals, work plans and schedules
Reporting project status in a measurable, accurate and timely manner
Project Profit and Loss statements
Preparation and presentation of bid proposals to prospective clients
Maintaining client relationships through both personal interface and written communications
Management and direct execution of contract requirements, assuring that cost and schedule goals are met.
Prior to being promoted to Division Manager, served as Project Manager on several key AIC projects as outlined below.
KEY PROJECTS AS A PROJECT MANAGER
Kensington Gold Mine - ($40 million)
Maintained all aspects of the project. Set-up Juneau office for Kensington support until site was habitable. Supervised the construction of five mile access road and barge port facility including 30,100 lf of guardrail. Set-up logistical support to and from jobsite via boat, barge, plane, and helicopters. Construction of the campsite pad, mill pad, materials storage pad, fuel storage facility, bridges, helipads, dam access road, site logging, and 400,000 sf of lined storm water distribution ponds. Construction of the batch plant pad and facility including the forming and placement of 4,000 cy of concrete footing, grade beams and slabs for the ball mill and production facilities. Supervised the drilling and shooting of 750,000 cy of rock and the excavation, haul and placement of 850,000 cy of material. Single point of contact with the client for day to day interfaces, contracts, reporting, estimating, and planning of future work.
POGO Gold Mine – ($30 million)
Management of Pogo Mine Project. Directed the construction of 50 mile all weather road. Supervised the construction of off water treatment facility, dry stack facility and dam, lined tailing dam and facility, mill pad and camp pad. Daily liaison between company and client. Prepared weekly reports for client. Negotiated new phases of construction.
Chayvo Project– ($27 million)
Responsible for the start-up phase for AIC's overseas project on Sahkalin Island, Russia. Single point of contact to implement construction processes and procedures for Chayvo Project. Handled all logistical support for project. Liaison between the Client and Sub-contractors. Constructed 400 man construction camp. Facilitated the development of 39 km of access road, barge beach landing facility, drilling pad with driven pile, and production facility pad. Installed 5,800 bbl lined tank farm facility. Supervised over one million man hours.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH AIC
Northstar Island (85,000 bpd Production Island)- Logistics Manager
Managed all aspects of logistics for the Northstar Development Project. In charge of organization and accountability for all personnel, materials, and supplies for island construction and operations. Station manager for West Dock Weather Station and FAA approved helipad. Responsible for coordinating and supervising weather observers, helicopter operations, barge operations, and crew boat operations. Other responsibilities include hazardous materials manifesting, diesel fuel usage tracking and reporting for Northstar Island emissions permit compliance, coordination of diesel fuel re-supply, and waste management control. Accountable for the written documentation of all logistic plans and their implementation. Coordinated and scheduled the movement of all personnel, equipment, and freight to and from Northstar Island during construction and operations. Maintained West Dock Materials Database and inventories.
Badami Project (50,000 bpd Production Facility) - Project Coordinator
Completed construction of the Badami Project for BP Exploration (Alaska), Inc. Project consisted of the construction of 30 miles of sea ice road along the coast, east from the Endicott causeway crossing five major river channels. Gravel pit development included drilling, blasting and mining 500,000 cubic yards of overburden and 1 million cubic yards of gravel. Construction of project roads, production pad, warehouse, FAA approved runway, and sheet pile causeway dock.
BP EXPLORATION, Milne Point, Alaska (1995 - 1996)
Civil and Logistics Construction Engineer
Supervised the installation of ten miles of cross-country pipelines, a new well pad, 600,000 cubic yards of gravel, and supports for oil process modules and pipelines. Handled all logistics for MPX-1 Expansion including material shipments, temporary facilities, 80-man temporary construction camp mobilization and management, housing and transportation for 500 workers and the Kuparuk River Road outage.
F.R. ROBERT BELL & ASSOCIATES, Prudhoe Bay, Alaska (1990 - 1995)
Civil Quality Assurance Supervisor, Construction Engineer
Supervised the inspection and placement of over 1.5 million cubic yards of gravel for roads and pads. Directed the driving of sheet pile retaining walls, driven pipeline supports, and driven bridge pile foundations and bridge installations. Managed the construction of the concrete foundations, culvert installations, drilled pipeline supports, pipeline road crossing installations, pipeline installation, Seaman's liner, and HDPE liner installations.
