PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
2004 - 1998 Thompson Creek Mining Company - Accounting Manager
In charge of all accounting functions at the mine including AP, PR, budgeting, financial modeling, assisted in long range mine planning, and various contract negotiations including the existing blasting contract. Assisted in HR activities including salary reviews, disciplinary actions, and health care issues. Trustee for the 401k plan. Solely support the company's network system and all PC. Novell NetWare 4.11 and 6.5, all version of Windows, GroupWise 6.5, Microsoft Office Professional, Lotus Organizer, Mainsaver and Solomon accounting system. Helped with engineering projects as required.
1998 - 1995: Echo Bay Mines LTD. - Manager, Project Administration
US Operations Manager for Paredones Amarillos Project. Responsibilities included detailed mine plans for financing and project startup, reviewing reserves and potential areas of future additions, development of costs and projections for life-of-mine plan.
Five-month assignment as project engineer for a Russian Deposit that was progressing into bankable feasibility. Oversaw progress on evaluations of the geology, mining, mineral processing, infrastructure, and economic analysis of the project.
Previous duties include work on two other bankable documents in assembling and compiling information and economic analysis that was presented to senior management and Board of Directors for approval of construction of two mining projects in Mexico and Canada.
1995 - 1994: Kennecott Energy, Cordero Mining Co. - Shift Supervisor
Responsibilities included overseeing pit production, maintenance operations, and plant operations on the day-to-day activities, setting priorities, employee evaluations, and employee training. Worked with crew to increase productivity.
1994 - 1993: Kennecott Energy, Cordero Mining Co. - Blasting Engineer
Duties included scheduling, budgeting, tracking, purchasing of explosive, cast blast shot designs and implementation. Implemented and developed a successful cast blasting program with the startup of the dragline, which detailed the exact cost and effectiveness of each shot with the aid of Lotus spreadsheets and AutoCad. Other duties included special projects, such as haul road designs and water control, and implementation of a new modeling program for the geologic and minable coal reserves for the mine.
1993 - 1992: Kennecott Energy, Cordero Mining Co. - Short Term Planning Engineer
Activities included short term planning for the mine (< 6 months), survey assistance, monthly volumetric calculations, and special short term projects.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
Extremely computer literate PC, all Windows versions, Microsoft Office products, Corel office products, hardware components, network capabilities, Autocad, Vulcan, Techbase, Whittle, and Surpac experienced, limited Unix/Linux OS on Silicon Graphics, capable of running financial models, budgeting, cost tracking, prepared feasibility studies, Fortran programming, report writing, and management skills. Blasting engineering, mine planning, and short/long range budgeting.
EDUCATION:
Graduated from MT Tech in 1992 with B.S. Mining Engineer. Have successfully completed other short courses and management seminars. EIT certified by the State of Montana and capable of getting P.E. Surface Coal Mine Foreman certified in Wyoming. Capable of obtaining Certified Blasting License. CNA Novell NetWare 4.11 Administration & Advanced Administration. CNA GroupWise Administration and Advanced Administration. Working towards CNE Novell 4.11.
