KLEINKOPJE COLLIERY, ANGLO COAL GROUP Mpumalanga, South Africa

Open Cast operation, producing 8 MMTonnes of coal per year with a 4.0 strip ratio. Main excavating fleet consists of 4 draglines, 5 wire rope shovels excavators, 2 production loaders, and 14 170 ton, electric truck haulage fleet.

Technical Assistant (Oct 04 – Present):
Two year Secondment acting as technical assistant in the Technical Services Department, Assist mining management in coordinating the weekly and daily activities associated with executing and maintaining the 3 month plan. Liaise daily with Pit Sups and APSs to assess and coordinate daily operations, problem solving, plan review and realignment. Evaluating mining sequences and infrastructure as roads and rehabilitation surfaces.

CARBONES DEL GUASARE, S.A. Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela

Mine Planning Engineer (Mar 03-Sep 04):
Involved with daily engineering and production scheduling and planning, and development of sequences for five-year mine plan, estimating of equipment KPI´S, for short range and five year mine plan, specially focusing in improve truck and shovel productivities in order to reduce costs. Main responsibilities include analyzing engineering procedures to improve planning and scheduling of mining logistics.
Design and incorporate final pit shell and block model for life of mine design of coal deposit.

Short Range Mine Planner (Apr 02-Feb 03)
Developed monthly and quarterly mine plans from the short range mine design, which also involved haul road design, ramp design, dump design, quality control, and infrastructure development.
