2. Rock mechanics and rock blasting
* Damage zone prediction for the rock blasting operations in mining and civil engineering, including crush zone and crack zone prediction for rock blasting design.
* Improving the fragmentation of rock blasting for the long-hole in hard rocks.
* Techniques for perimeter smooth and presplit blasting in underground and surface mining.
* Laboratory techniques for rock static properties measurement, including compressive, shear, and tensile strengths, Poisson's ratio, Young's modulus.

3. Explosive engineering
* Managing and operating explosives laboratories including the mini-explosives laboratory and transitional production explosives laboratory.
* The experience for running explosives laboratory from very beginning to its close.
* Developed the Explosives calculation software for commercial and military explosives, including Oxygen balance, available energy, gas volume, relative weight strength, relative bulk strength, VOD, detonation pressure, detonation temperature and specific energy.
* Explosives engineering consultant, including establishing QC laboratory testing procedures for explosives (emulsions, ANFO, heavy ANFO, and low density explosives) and training testing technicians, field loading calibration and quality control.
* Research work of explosives and mining engineering. Developed several new emulsion explosives and cold weather explosive processing technology which were used in Canada, Russia, Korea, South Africa and Ghana.
* Water gel development and research for special application
* Experience of field services for explosive mixing, blending, sensitizing, and load calibrating as well as quality controlling.
* New products development, new explosives for underground mine, new explosives for hot-hole (pyretic) mine, and gas agent for cold weather condition, used oil explosives etc..
