-Managing the OEM assembly of new Caterpillar mining fleet to meet targets, for mining fleet into operation.
-Relieving national maintenance manager, supporting and managing HV electrical, and mine dewatering and fixed and mobile maintenance teams.
_Developing relationships with support organisations, warehousing, to structure meetings to support maintenance operations.
-Assembling maintenance strategies for crushing and stacking units, which have been out of operation for many years.
-Assembling and managing planning refurbishments to 3 major repair workshops, fuel and lube facility.
-Working with underground manager to develop maintenance service contracts, maintenance systems.
-Working with Mincom CMMS systems to develop maintenance strategies.
Oct 2006 -FEB 2008: Maintenance and Planning Superintendent,
Phu BIA Mining Laos. Contract Position.
-Starting of a green field site, assembling a maintenance team, planning infrastructure requirements, relieving Maintenance Superintendent.
-Working with equipment OEM Companies to ensure equipment supplied meets PBM specifications as requested
-Coordination of OEM and suppliers, to logistically support new equipment with support personnel.
-Instigation of initial warehouse stock requirements, and future vendor support and requirements.
-Direct involvement with construction of mobile equipment and light vehicle support facilities.
-Pulling together and purchasing of all maintenance tooling and equipments required in servicing and maintaining mining and light truck and light vehicle fleets.

January 1998 to August 2000: Maintenance Planning Superintendent – Construction and Mining Equipment, Jakarta.
- Generating and implementing a sensible maintenance plan for mining and construction fleet, working fleet of some 109,000,000 US$ dollars
- Assisting the plant manager to prepare capital expenditure reports for new plant, as well as monthly and yearly budget projections
- Forecasting FMC [Full Maintenance Contract] contracts with the plant manager. gathering vender's for monthly meetings to work through monthly machine KPI reports
- Reporting to management on budgets, new plant projections, routine replacements and purchases, and updating asset register listings
- Placing redundant plant for disposal by tender, assembling plant in a central location, listing and sending plant specification information to venders, dealing with venders on machine condition and organizing viewing, setting of disposal price for assets
- Employing and constructing, a planning team of 10 national staff
- Utilizing and improving a CMMS software package [Advantis Pro maintenance system] to implement practical plant hire rates using total life planned plant costing, through planned component change periods. This system is also used in conjunction with the Vs/sat communication system, which facilitates quick, easy site access to a mainframe from site to check on any historical data. Site also inputs new data on daily basis concerning all machines, and by month's end automatically produces a KPI.
- Machine, workshop performance, total monthly machine costs: establishing a network system that also carries service information data such as oil sampling information updates and SIS [Caterpillar] service information to all remote sites.
- Preparation of work order spreadsheets, including all safety procedures, parts and instructions to carry out servicing and major maintenance, incorporating these instructions in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Communicating with vendors through the maintenance schedule, so as to have parts available in time for all planned and major scheduled work. Using the vendors' systems such as the PLN Cat system to forward plan spare parts supplies. This was reinforced with monthly meetings with all major preferred vendors, to identity any problems with supply of parts and labour hire.
- Checking on supply of PEX [parts exchange] components, planning of turn-around times with vendors for these components, so that sites were not inconvenienced with large amounts of down time
- Traveling to 9 sites in the Indonesian archipelago to conduct system audits, train expatriate superintendents and national workshop supervisors and administrators - some 1,500 persons.
- Advising sites of forthcoming work, so that all parts and supplies are assembled on site before the machine is made available, so that repairs can be efficiently completed.
- Instructing the component rebuild workshop supervisor on the components required, budget allocations and locations were components should be allocated.
- Conversing with the machine rebuild and fabrication workshop manager on machine arrival times and budgets for plant due for overhaul. Assemble spare parts components for this repair and schedule completion date for the machine.
- Preparing machine repair budgets for weekly Management staff meetings.
- Updating site and rebuild workshops with vendor product updates service information, so that the plant components being overhauled are always updated to the latest vendor specifications.
- Conducting monthly site warehouse audits, highlighting stock redundancy and slow-moving items.
- Transferring stock to new sites as machines were moved or sites were contractually closed. Notifying vendors of machine movements so that stock held by them could also move with machine or to vendor's branch office in close proximity.
- Organizing consignment tyre stocks with vendors for sites, implementing a tyre tracking and forecasting tyre usage costing.
- Developing and implementing a company capital expenditure purchasing agreement, for the procurement of heavy and light mining equipment, creating a plant standard for machinery purchased
* March 1996 to December 1997: Mobile Equipment Maintenance Superintendent, Lubuk Linggau mine-site, South Sumatra.
- Provide infrastructure and set-out of new remote site; fabricate all site amenities – water, power, site buildings; management of wastewater, oils, waste oils and bulk fuel tank farm, to Australian standards.
- Client liaison concerning environmental concerns and site management
- Conducting weekly safety toolbox meetings with all site personnel, as well as safety information reporting and monitoring for monthly LTIs
