Short Range Planner - Responsible for day to day mine planning at a 135k/day open pit gold mine. Work inludes blasting design, haulage scheduling, road and ramp construction and coordination of operations and engineering.
Long Range Mine Planner - Responsible for long range mine planning, including mine design, budget mine plans, strategic business plans, and economic analysis.
(2004-2006) Mining/Geotechnical Engineer, BGC Engineering Inc. Yellowknife NWT.
Primaily involved with mine reclamation and development projects in Canadian far north. Opened and maintained a field office in Yellowknife and operated as the sole full time representative of the company in the north. Project experience included geotechnical investigations and design work, permafrost engineering, project managment, and project QA/QC programs.
(2004) Field Engineer, RECON, LLC Alaska
Short term engineering support for Recon LLC during design and construction of the Pogo Mine access road in interior Alaska. Typical work included route reconnaissance, surveying, site inspections, and staking for a 50 mi haul road in interior Alaska.
(2003) Engineer-in-Training, Silverado Gold Mines, Alaska
Involved in construction of companies placer gold plant in northern Alaska.
Conducted control, topo and reserve surveys of mine property.
Assisted with final clean up and processing of recovered gold.
(2002) Engineering Intern, Mississippi Potash Corporation, New Mexico
Compiled ventilation maps and escape plans for two of the companies underground potash mines in Carlsbad NM. Daily surveying, mine mapping and drafting.
(2001) Geophysical Technician, Kennecott Exploration, Alaska
Setup and operation of remote 12-20 man field camps.
Operation of Trimble 4700 RTK GPS unit for massive sulfide gravity surveys. Fly-in only camp in northern Alaska.
