Description: Subsidence is defined as the phenomena of lowering of ground due to tectonic movements and man made causes. The major causes of subsidence are due to faults slips, rock movements and man made excavations. To predict this effect of subsidence is been defined in this package.

Prediction of the subsidence is done in two methods

1. CMRS method.
2. SCH method.

The CMRS model consists of empirical formulae derived by central mines research institute Calcutta. This approach is used to assess the subsidence. This method was derived mostly for Indian conditions such that working with board & pillar mining, shallow mines & considering the geological conditions.

The SEH method, which is derived by the British, is formed by the empirical formulae and the monograms. The approach to subsidence prediction employed by this method is to produce assessment of the maximum subsidence and associated max value of strain, tilt and displacement and this is mostly used for long wall mining methods

The major work for the Client was to estimate the project cost and to analyses the total expenditure for the biding of the contract so that the total cut and fill volume can be estimated and also the total obstructions can be valuated.

As per the requirement topo sheets were traced and based on those digitized maps were formed. The digitization work was done in AutoCAD 2D, after the digitization of the maps, was transferred to Arc INFO in which total data and map positioning and projection was done. The projected maps were transferred to arc view in which tamp lets were given as suitable and requirement with a soft copy additional hard copies were hand hovered.
