Organisational Experience

Since July 15, 2006 with Chemaf S.P.R.L DRC

Joined Chemaf in July 2006. Chemaf is having very big exploration rights in DRC for Copper, Cobalt, Gold, Siver, Cadmium etc. I was on deputation from Aug 15, 2006 to May 2007 to Australia for relocation of a Leaching, SX & EW plant to DRC.

My basic job was to supervise the dismantling activities, marking all component in identifiable manner, coordinate with Logistics, Identify missing links for new ordering, preparation of drawings for assembly at DRC etc.

I am presently responsible for all activity such as design, procure, install and commission the Electrical and Automation system such as 220kV switchyardm Substation DCS, PLC etc required for Cu Sx, Cobalt EW and SX, copper leaching plant and Floatation plants.

May'96; to July 6,2006 with Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Birla Copper)
Key Result Areas;
Project Planning & Management
* End to end project management from planning to site mapping to monitoring on-site activities and final execution of modernisation & capacity expansion projects.
* Monitoring projects with respect to Cost, Resource Deployment, Time over-runs, Quality Compliance and Manpower Planning to ensure timely execution of projects.

* Performing the functions of breakdown / preventive / corrective / routine maintenance for reducing machinery downtime to minimum.

* Verification of building inventory, P.M. task development, annual and special P.M. task development, annual and special P.M. scheduling, P.M. program automation and P.M. program administration and procedures.

* Ensure that work requests are consistently monitored, performed, and electronically closed out within established guidelines. Monitor and inspect completed work.

Materials Management
„P Designing, implementing and monitoring effective procurement schedules along with finalising the specifications to ensure ready availability of materials.
„P Handling project procurements along with target based negotiations.
„P Developing cost effective indigenous import substitutes for imported machinery/spare parts.

Quality Assurance/ Trouble Shooting
„P Ensuring complete in-process quality control and continuous improvement in process capabilities.
„P Proactively identifying the areas of quality failure and taking appropriate corrective measures.

„P Achieved savings to the tune of Rs 55.56 Cr. through completion of Copper-1 expansion project in Rs.75.34 Cr. against approved CP of Rs. 130 Cr
„P Successfully executed Copper-II Project at optimal cost of 350 Cr. As against industry norms of Rs. 700 Cr.
Successfully adapted target-based approach viz., Questioning the need & specifications, Zero base costing, Indigenisation, On site fabrication i.e. non-turnkey concept, Limiting overseas assistance & Target based negotiations for optimizing resource utilization.

* Successfully executed the Phase-II of the capacity expansion project to increase the productive capacity of the Copper Plant by 70,000 TPA in coordination with M/s Ausmelt (for basic engineering) and M/s Mecon Ltd. (for detail engineering).
* Core Member of the team involved in executing the capacity expansion project to increase the capacity of the Smelter Complex to 180000 tons per year entailing:
- Setting up of 200 TPD Oxygen Plant, 35KA/90V Rectifier for Electrolytic Refinery & Copper Converter.
- Installation of new equipments in the Flash Smelting Furnace for upgrading the capacity from 100000TPA to 180000TPA.

As Dy. Manager - Projects
* Successfully executed all the activities for setting up Di-Ammonium Phosphate Plant with a rated capacity of 1200 TPD. (Presently the plant is operating at 120% of rated capacity)

As Dy. Manager - Electrical

* Managed the operations & maintenance of Smelter and Sulphuric Acid Plant.
* Successfully implemented TPM, TQM, 5S and World Class Manufacturing Practices and ISO 9000 System in the plant; achieved minimum motor failure rate in the unit.
* Designed and implemented Condition Monitoring System in the plant utilising SPM 2010 Data Logger, Raytek make Laser Temperature Gun, Engineering Stethoscope and EMC Motor Checkers.

As Asst. Manager - Electrical Joined in May'96;
* Played a major role in the commissioning of the Greenfield Copper Smelter of 100000 TPA capacity in coordination with M/s Outokumpu Engineering Contractors entailing:
- Smelter, Material Handling & Jetty.
- Sulphuric & Phoshoric Acid Plant.
- Electrolytic Refinery & CC Rod Plant.
- Cogeneration Power Plant.
- Oxygen Plant.
The project was rated as the fastest executed Greenfield Copper Project.

Oct'90; to Apr'96; with Hindustan Zinc Ltd (Integrated Project Division)

- Joined Hindustan Zinc Ltd in 1990 in Integrated Project Division for the project of R.A.Mines & Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter.It was a 617 crores project.
Handled the erection, testing, commissioning and maintenance operations of 132 KV Switchyard & Beneficiation Plant at the Integrated Project Division, Udaipur and R.A. Project.

Commenced career with HH Elcon (I) Ltd. as Engineer (Mar'90; to Sep'90;)
