- Research well record and lease records from state surveys and county courthouses
- Interpret well logs and correlate lithologies stratigraphically
- Make various isoclinal maps such as structural, isopach, and porosity
- Analyze well production curves and recommend solutions to enhance the production of petroleum
- Set up a lease for the production of petroleum
- Well site geological services
- Determine mineralogy and morphology of samples via a petrographic microscope
- Identification and analysis of clay minerals through the use of an X-ray diffractometer
- Use Rockware software to produce maps, profiles, models, statistical analysis, volumetrics, etc.
- Use Logit software to produce interpretive well logs
- Operate gas chromatograph
- Perform various geophysical field tasks including: reflective and refractive seismology, electrical resistivity surveys, and magnetic survey analysis

-I am presently working as a geologist/ mud logger for Selman and Associate, Ltd. and as a consulting geologist, researching and mapping prospects and performing well site/ mud logging services.
- Worked as a geologist in a personal/ family venture in the Illinois Basin where I was actively involved in the location, drilling and subsequent production of petroleum, and manually setting up and operating the lease
- Worked as a geologist for Kimberly-Clark Corporation overseeing and developing their mineral rights holdings in Wisconsin (massive sulfide), California (geothermal), Georgia (kaolinite), Michigan, Louisiana (oil and gas), and elsewhere
