 Al Qaim phosphate complex/ Uranium Extraction unit U–340 [1987-1988]

o A chemical fertilizer complex for the processing phosphate ore from the "Akashat opencast mine" with associated Sulfuric acid plant, The unit was designed to produce 100 tones of uranium per year (equivalent to 146 tones of yellowcake ) -assuming continuous production of phosphoric acid at 150 m3/hr, and uranium content in the phosphate was about 75 ppm, the unit used the DEPA-TOPO process which comprises the following steps: Acid preconditioning and gunk removal, First cycle extraction and strip Raffinate post treatment, Second cycle extraction, strip and uranium precipitation to produce yellow cake.

 General Establishment for Geological Survey and Prospecting [1988 -1991]
o The Geological Survey Institute is the location of process development and pilot plant operation to recover uranium (as UO4) from carbonate ore from the Abu-Sukhair underground lime stone mine, average uranium content was 150 parts per million o The process include crushing, Roasting, carbonate leaching, thickening, Organic removal by activated carbon columns, uranium adsorption by ion exchange fixed columns ( using Amberlite 4000 ) and finally precipitation by H2O2 to produce yellow cake

 Engineering, installation, commissioning for UCL4 production plant [1986-1987]

o the process includes: uranium purification unit from yellow cake ( dissolution in nitric acid, mixer settler purification using TPB kerosene system, uranium precipitation), calcination by rotary kiln, reduction by H2 inside rotary kiln, chlorination by CCL4 in Rotary kiln
