EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Joined Faber Maunsell in September 2004 as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer at Darlington, UK, office following completion of Beng course in 2004. Whilst at Faber Maunsell worked in conjunction with the Geotechnical Team in compiling the Geotechnical Feedback Report for the A1 Barton to Dishforth Motorway scheme. In addition also gained an introduction to the planning and supervision of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations, involved in tender documents, site walkovers, assisting in preparation of desk study and interpretative reports.

Preparation of a preliminary sources study for the proposed remediation of the heavily contaminated Lambton Cokeworks site and acted as resident engineer for the twelve week duration of the bio-degradation cell at the Lambton site. Design and site supervision of additional ground investigations. Carried out water and gas monitoring on site.

Joined WS Atkins in June 2006 as an Engineering Geologist at the Epsom office, UK. Worked on numerous projects in the UK as well as been seconded to the Dubai Metro (U.A.E) to work on the Metro Green Line Project.

Joined Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, Bahrain as a Geotechnical engineer for the Al Muharraq and Durrat Island Projects carrying out reclamation geotechnical works.

Attended daily progress meetings with the consulting engineer. Compiled a beach sand report for dredging operations within limited borrow areas.

Planning and scheduling the mobilisation of both offshore and reclamation drilling crews. Other in house duties included being involved in the setting up of a geotechnical data framework using GINT software package. Extensive analysing of CPT data using CPT Task software package.

To determine the surface and subsurface conditions at proposed stations and to provide physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the foundation strata in order to provide sufficient information for design of the underground station and associated structures.

Prepared extensive lab scheduling for the underground section associated with in situ testing such as diagraphy probing, elastometer / pressuremeter and packer tests combined with laboratory tests to build up a geological ground model for the Dubai Metro project.

OLYMPIC PARK, LOWER LEA VALLEY; UK ¡V Preparation of the Geotechnical Interpretative Report for the Olympic site, Stratford, London. Compilation of data from previous and ongoing ground investigations to be used for proposed structural, earthwork and foundation design. Determination of the ground model and geotechnical parameters within the area and provision of recommendations for foundation design.

ORWELL BRIDGE, IPSWICH, PIER 9 REMEDIAL WORKS; UK ¡V Determination of the ground model surrounding Pier 9 from cone penetration testing data. Designed a sheet pile wall using "WALLAP" to retain material due to increased scouring on the west flank adjacent to the pier thus preventing future weakening of pier skirt and pile cap foundations (CPT interpretation).

M61 JUNCTIONS 6 TO 9 MANCHESTER COUNCIL, AREA 10; UK ¡V Preparation of a Principal Geotechnical Inspection Report providing data for all the highway geotechnical assets (highways earthworks, i.e. embankments, cuttings, bunds and at grade sections).
