PERSONAL STATEMENT

I wish to work in exploration geology as I consider it an area that demands the pragmatic application of cross-discipline thinking and correlation, whilst also calling on considerable skill and creativity to solve various problems. I am extremely attracted to the opportunity to travel, work outside, and be more 'hands-on' in my geological learning. I fully understand that starting out in exploration geology involves learning many basic industry skills and I am not afraid of hard work, be it mental or physical.
I am looking for a FIFO roster, flying into a project area for 6-10 weeks, and working out of either Dublin or London. Whilst I wish to work in exploration, I am also open to beginning my career in mining in order to learn valuable transferable skills.
Below, my CV is enclosed for your perusal; this contains evidence not only of my geological background but also of my attitude in general. I am adaptable and will rise to steep learning curves, whilst also successful in both team and leadership roles – a quality enhanced from my role as a teacher and involvement in college societies. I also feel that I have a wide range of experience, and confidence, in communication, presentation and reporting, whilst also thriving in field-based settings.
