Involved in Sampling of iron ore fines, lumps, crushed ore and sea ore according to ISO standard, from the lots ranges up to 50000 mts during the daily production and at the time of shipment.

Flash Photometer, Electrical and Electronic Weighing machine, Pulverizor unit Hot Oven, Muffle Furnace and Distillation Unit etc.,

Project Details:

Titile: Detection of H2S gas using a sensor based on doped tin oxide

1994 1995 Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research Kalpakkam INDIA

Objectives: H2S gas is lethal to human being even in low conc level in a continuous working environment. To detect the gas in such a ppm level we need a sensor which should be small and able to detect and measure such low level conc of H2S gas.

Tin oxide sensors are very liable for such reducible gases and by the doping of Sb,Bi metal inside it become a N and P type semiconductor. We can measure the conductivity or the resistance change when it comes in conduct with the H2S gas. So that we can measure the conc of H2S or any reducible gas.

ROLE:
I played the role in fabricating new sensors with diff conc. Of Sb and Bi doped Tin oxide paste. Chemical preparation, precipitation, sintering and fabrication of sensor and checked the sensor with diff conc. ofH2S gas were the main work I done in this project.
It is successfully tested and run in the lab trial and recommended to further level by IGCAR lab.
