Metallon Gold Zimbabwe is a subsidury of Metallon Gold Mining company. It operates five medium to large scale gold mines in Zimbabwe and is currently the largest gold producing company in Zimbabwe. Arcturus mine consists of comminution and extraction plant that processes 30 000t of ore per month to produce about 2 500 oz.

Position: Plant Superintendent (Head of Section)

Projects:
o Currently working on a project to reduce the mass pull for the gold leaching plant to 25% by the use of concentrators.
o Installation of an AARL elution plant. This should see a raise in the elution efficiency, a drop in the lock up, reduction in the operating cost (as the system uses less reagents and has a shorter operating cycle)

2. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in all phases of a plant operation

Position: Snr Plant Metallurgist (Head of Section)
Date: June 2006 to December 2007
Reporting to: Plant Manager
Achievements o Commissioning and optimization of Aachen unit (oxygen injection system), which resulted in:
„« Increasing dissolved oxygen levels in the tanks
„« Reduce the cyanide consumption from 2.5 kg/t to 1.55 kg/t (37, 5% reduction)
„« 20% reduction in the overall departmental operating costs.
o Optimization of the leaching residence time i.e. increasing it by 9% through minimizing short-circuiting. This resulted in an increase of 1.5% in the leaching efficiency.
o Design, installation and optimization of dewatering cyclones. This lead to an reduction of floculant consumption from 0,05kg/t to 0,02kg/t.

Achievements o Optimization of the milling circuit (upping the tonnage from 400tpd to 450 tpd @ 80% passing 75 microns), which resulted in a 5% increase in the production and an overall decrease of 0,5% of the overall operational cost.
o Increasing the elution efficiency from 74% to 83% as well as reducing the gold lock up by 1,5kg by installing, commissioning and optimization of Zarda atmospheric pressure elution system o Participated in the upgrading of the crushing plant from 30tph to 40tph o Involved in the procument, installation and commissioning of an online cyanide and pH analyzer with a payback period of 1month. This resulted in the reduction of lime consumption form 4kg/t to 1,5kg/t and cyanide consumption from 1,2 kg/t to 0,9kg/t
