PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Pabx Engineer/Technician May 2007 – Present

Currently employed within a medium sized Telecommunications Company primarily employed as a PABX Engineer. This involves the programming, installation, maintenance and fault rectification of various key telephone systems. I have mainly worked on the Panasonic TDA 30, and Ericsson BP 50 and BP 250 range, but have also had exposure to Panasonic TDA 100, 200, and 600. Additional job responsibilities include being on a 24 hour call out roster to cover the fault rectification of hundreds of Vodafone base station sites, for numerous radio and microwave links covering the ACT, NSW and Victoria regions. Radio systems worked on are Mitel, Ericsson, Nortel and Codan.

Network Build Engineer Nov 2004 - Feb 2007

Employed as a network build engineer with British Telecomm. Undertaking all aspects of Network installation, maintenance and faultfinding. Previously worked on the new 21st Century Network, which includes the installation, jointing and testing of all copper cables to support the telephone and data network, commonly known as the first mile of BT's network. This includes Engineer intervention at the exchange, primary cross connection points, Secondary cross connection points and distribution points, all the way to the customer, as well as internal network cabling, whilst adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures set out by BT.

Employed in an extremely busy police control room environment for Devon and Cornwall Police. This role involved firstly the receipt of highly sensitive information, an immediate assessment, and the correct resource dispatched in accordance with policies and procedures, and secondly undertaking all immediate response tasks, and advising officers on which course of action to take. And finally to maintain and record all activity as the Police force goes about their daily duties.

Working within a four man IT installation team at night employed by Orange Mobile phone network, to upgrade hardware components to 650 computers within a Plymouth Call center. Involving the implementation of covert mobile Base stations and radio sites, mainly hf and vhf, for several specialized roles.
