JOB PROFILE

 Ensures the keeping of accurate records of spare parts (imported and local) and other engineering materials received into and issued out of the stores under his control.
 Effectively uses MRP to order parts. Use of the web tools and spares finder for imported parts purchase in order to minimize the cost.
 Assists the engineering & EHS manager in RRS spares management by collating information on production and engineering spares for effective maintenance of equipment, plant and machinery, management information and adequate back-up.
 Ensures regular physical stock taking ( monthly at least) of all materials for accounting and re-ordering purposes and advises the Factory Engineer on stocks that have reached their minimum order level and prepares a list of such local and foreign spares for ordering to replenish stock
 Monitors the movement of all stocks and reports weekly on fast moving spares to the Engineering & EHS Manager and all user departments, and ensures that action is initiated to place order to replenish stocks. Prepares R&RS Monthly Report.
 Issues spare parts and other materials and ensure that requisitions are duly signed by authorised members of management and entries keyed into SAP RRS modules in the computer for costing.
 Directs storekeepers for preparation of receiving sheets, attachment of local purchase orders, invoices, stores returns notes to finance department and keeping records on them for costing purposes.
 Ensures the prompt issues of spares to the production floor to avoid down time. Ensures that the company's safety policy on the storage of spare parts is strictly adhered to in the stores under your control.
 Complies with the RR&S stock policy and agreed RR&S inventory days. And ensures the regular comparison of spare parts usage against Budget.

 To develop, maintain and encourage effective and efficient mechanical team work in Engineering Department through flexible working practice to achieve departmental set targets.
 To ensure availability of mechanical spares required, list them if not available and submit to Eng/EHS management for approval and effect orders for maintenance of plant, machinery, factory buildings and project to ensure their efficiency and safety.
 To plan and prepare routine mechanical maintenance schedule for plant/machinery, pressure vessels and lifting equipment to enable Lloyd's surveyor carry out due visual inspection, hammer test, hydraulic test and commissioning for satisfactory performance which is consistent with the company's safety policy objectives.
 To ensure regular supply of Air, Water to the manufacturing department for the achievement of production targets.
 To provide supervision for the overhaul, installation, modifications/constructions of mechanical plant and machinery, and the production of mechanical spares for manufacturing functional departments to meet their spares needs.
 Has a shared responsibility for the implementation of EHS policies and practices for both Engineering staff and contract workers for safe working practice and good housekeeping consistent with the company's safety objectives.
 To prepare monthly report on man hours, Gas Oil consumption, mechanical maintenance carried out on Plant/Machinery under Engineering: Forklift, Compressors, Water installations, Dust Recovery plants, Toffi, Pumps, Workshop equipment, Building repairs, SMD (Packing and Making), Laboratory, Canteen equipment and submit to Eng/EHS management for the appropriate actions to be taken where necessary.
 To ensure effective operation of Fire fighting equipment in the factory for prompt use in case of fire out- break to prevent destruction and damage of property and lives.
