Responsible for managing and supervising the Geotechnical Department comprised of two engineers. Coordinated third party reviews concerning geotechnical plans for pit designs. Directed the activities of slope monitoring, blasting and dewatering. Activities were related to slope stability, mine safety and preserving resources.

Daily geotechnical activities involved the utilization and maintenance of slope monitoring hardware and software. Out system utilized GeoMos and Call Nicholas software, and Leica TCA 1800 Robotic Total Stations. Other software programs included Rockware: Dips and Slide, Auto Cad and Minesight.

Blasting activities utilized several software programs. Electronic icons were used in the blasting. Programmable detonators were timed using Whites Seismology, Shot Plus and AWS software. Loads were modeled and determined by using Blastbook software. Slope dewatering activities involved directing the horizontal drilling in-pit pumping and vertical drilling around the pit periphery. Mapping activities involved bench mapping with Brunton/GPSA and laser equipment.
