Investigator: My background includes a career in law enforcement as a Salt Lake County Sheriff's Deputy and as an Investigator with the Utah Dept of Commerce.

Mental Health Counselor: For two years I worked in the State Prison within their Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counseling Unit where I researched, designed and delivered an in-cell "Biblio-Therapy" Drug and Alcohol Program to inmates housed in Maximum Security.

Legal Assistant: I am experienced in conducting legal research, in writing, filing, and serving legal documents in small claims, civil rights, and environmental justice actions..

II. EH&S Experience:

Enviro-Training Resource Co. - 1998 to Present: As the owner of the E-TRCo I have been providing workshops and seminars and contracting for work of various time lengths for the past 10 years since leaving Salt Lake Community College. These contracts have been as either a 10-99 contractor or as a temporary W-2 employee. The list of clients is fairly extensive.

HSE&S Consultant in Madagascar: For six months in the Spring of 2008, I accompanied the original mobilization team to Madagascar and helped get ready for the kick-off of a 240km Nickel Slurry Pipeline. My responsibility was for all HSE and Security issues for the project as a consultant to Consolidated Contractors Company of Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Q-HSE Manager in the Middle East: I spent 21 months in Afghanistan between April of 2006 and December 2007. For a year I was worked for AGS|AECOM with 700+ employees at Bagram Air Field where we maintained all wheeled tactical vehicles and managed new construction projects for the U.S. Military. We also had fourteen 25-man mechanic teams at remote Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). My first eight months were with Kellogg, Brown & Root supporting the needs of the Hazardous Waste Storage Area where I wrote their SPCC Plans and, among other duties, assembled an on-line electronic MSDS database in html format

Project Officer and FEMA Sub-contractor: In early 2006, I spent nearly four months in New Orleans where I documented damages and served as a liaison with FEMA Officials in Baton Rouge on behalf of Hurricane Katrina victims.

Site Safety Manager with URS Corp SLC, UT - Between early September 2005 and mid-January 2006, I served as the Site Health & Safety Officer during the construction phase of a DoD Mustard Agent project at the Deseret Chemical Depot in Utah's remote western desert.

Construction Safety Engineer – April thru Sept 2005: For nearly six months I coordinated the EHS support for Taylor Int'l, the primary contractor for Sands Hotel Corp on their OCIP construction of a sixty-five story addition to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

College Professor and Program Manager – Jan 1992 to April 1998: I was the original instructor in the A.S. Degree of Environmental Technology at Salt Lake Community College and also founder of the non-credit Environmental Training Center that evolved into an OSHA Training Institute in partnership with the University of Utah.

Publications: Author of Prentice Hall's Environmental Technology Series.

ERT Incident Coordinator – July 1991 to April 1992: I led the Enviro-Action Team in response to the clean up of more than a dozen accidental chemical releases which included: A 300,000 gallon release of spent sulfuric acid, a 1,500 gallon spill of diesel fuel, a 50ft trailer load of caustic beads (sodium hydroxide) on an Interstate Highway, and a 50ft trailer of 85% hydrogen peroxide. When not busy with incident response the ENACT Team was busy with the remediation of several long-term environmental projects.

III. Other Credentials

U.S. Military Experience – Utah Army National Guard/19th Special Forces Group and the 2849th Security Police Sqn at Hill AFB. Over the years I was trained and served as:

* Unit Safety Officer (USO) * Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)

CHMM/PMP/ASSE - I hold credentials as a Certified Hazardous Material Manager, a Project Management Professional, and I'm a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. I hold numerous EHS Train-The-Trainer credentials including HAZWOPER and the 30-hr OSHA Outreach in both Construction (500) and General Industry (501).
