Project Fellow in Geotech Department
* Continuous strata monitoring in Underground excavation: In this project, Continuous strata monitoring has been carried out by installing geotechnical instruments which includes Load cells, stress capsules, tell-tale extensometers, strain gauges, RCI and convergence instruments. Study has been carried throughout the completion of excavation to fix up the appropriate barrier width by the knowledge of induced stresses and deformations. The same study has been carried out with numerical software that is FLAC.
* Continuous strata monitoring in Square &Rectangular U/G Excavation: Continuous strata monitoring of Geo-technical Instruments such as Load cells, Tell-Tale extensometers and Convergence measurements has been carried out to find out the separation of rock layers in the roof.
* Strata monitoring in Wide U/G Excavation: There was a problem of sudden roof fall in this mine due to hidden slips and faults in the roof. To avoid the same problem NIRM suggested changing the method of working from Bord & Pillar to Wide Stall. With this Wide Stall method we completed panel successfully by and large same percentage of extraction.
* Design of slope: In this project we used piezometers to find out the ground water level and collected rock and soil samples to find out required parameters for the analysis. For the same study analysis has been taken up numerically and empirically as well.

M. Tech ¡V Rock Engineering & U/g Structures i.e., Geotechnical Engineer, Civil, IIT Delhi (CGPA: 7.35/10) May 2005
Major project work: On the basis of tunnel design and analysis, I have simulated it to square and rectangular underground openings to carry out the study by focusing on the objective of the work. Main concern of this study is, to predict the surface subsidence by simulating relevant field conditions and also to obtain the subsidence dependent parameters that are mainly play key role to subside ground surface vertically downward.
Finally this study proved that one could actually choose the numerical method that is finite element method to carry out stability and deformation analysis in any kind of geo-technical problems.
Minor Project Work: In this study, practical rock slope problem (Near kalkagi Temple, South Delhi) took by a group of students. Scanline survey conducted throughout the length of slope. After collecting few varieties of rock samples, extensive laboratory experiments are conducted to determine the geological and geotechnical characteristics of rock mass.
On the basis of test results, stereographic plots, and limit equilibrium analysis, stability of the slope assessed and few remedial measures proposed.
Relevant Course Work: Engineering properties of rocks and rock masses, Structural Geology, Finite Element method, Analysis and design of underground structures, slopes and foundations, Geotechnical processes in rock engineering, Rock mechanics laboratory work, Geographic Information System (GIS).
