WORK EXPERIENCE SELF EMPLOYED April 2007 – Present Consulting Geologist * Consulted for the exploration department of Lisbon Valley Mine, a sediment-hosted copper deposit in southeast Utah. Computerized exploration data using GEMS software and generated land status map of Lisbon Valley area using AutoCAD. Site geologist for rotary and core drilling operations. Logged core and chip samples. Performed soil gas sampling. Located sites for future drilling. * Investigated and reported on the potential for an epithermal gold deposit associated with a sedex barite deposit in northeast Washington for a Canadian junior exploration company. Selected drillsites for future drilling. * Continued to contract to Zancanella and Associates (see below) in a consulting capacity. ZANCANELLA AND ASSOCIATES, INC. February 1998 – March 2007 Geologist, Technician, Water Systems Operator * Designed and operated water systems for subdivisions. Handled state and county permitting for new systems and for changes to established systems. Wrote reports to, and interacted with, government agencies. Used my geological knowledge to locate water wells and predict aquifer locations. SELF EMPLOYED 1989 - 1998 Consulting Geologist * Project Manager for multi-million dollar gold exploration project in Myanmar (Burma). Successfully managed a team of eight exploration geologists, fifteen Myanmar geologists and approximately one hundred local field and office personnel. Was responsible for head office operations in Yangon (Rangoon), field offices in Mandalay and Banmauk, and field (mapping, sampling, drilling) operations in the northern part of the country. Successfully directed all aspects of the program, including personnel, interaction with the Myanmar government, procurement, budgeting, geologic interpretation, sample analysis, sample QA/QC, computer applications and contractor negotiations. * Responsible for organization and design of geologic and mining databases for several mineral exploration companies utilizing the GEMCOM software packages, including PC-XPLOR and GEOMODEL (now included within GEMCOM's GEMS software), with emphasis on data integrity, cross section and map generation, geologic coding and resource estimation. Implemented procedures for better database management and problem-solved database and computer system related difficulties. Instructed and trained client personnel in the use of GEMCOM software. Made recommendations to clients on software and hardware purchases. This work required coordination of efforts with head office and field personnel and often required operating in remote field offices under difficult conditions. Consulting contracts included work in Canada, Chile, French Guiana, Peru, Surinam, The Philippines and Zambia, as well as in the USA. Clients included: Compania Minera San Jose Ltda., Crown Resources Corporation, Golden Star Resources Ltd., Lac Minerals (USA) Inc., Minera Cominco Resources Chile Ltda., Orvana Resources Corporation, Sarabat Minerals Philippines Inc. and First Dynasty Mines, Ltd., among others. * Initiated use of mineral exploration computer programs at Crown Resources Corp. Used my geologic background to construct databases and interpret field data for use in computer analysis. Created maps, cross sections and mineral resource estimates. Performed as site geologist for core drilling programs in Peru. * Compiled and interpreted data for an annual, worldwide gold study entitled "Gold Situation -1990". The book is published internation¬ally and is utilized by many mining companies. * Served as a member of the Denver GeoTech Conference Committee and successful¬ly participated in the planning and organization of five annual conferences for geologists and computer profession¬als. CROWN RESOURCES CORPORATION 1983 - 1989 Senior Geologist * Successfully directed and executed numerous precious metals exploration programs in northeastern Washington and Arizona from inception to final recommendations. Handled all phases of project management and contractor supervision. Acted as site geologist for core and rotary drilling projects for epithermal and skarn-related gold projects. Logged core and rotary drilling samples. Monitored QA/QC on all projects. * Managed a waterflood oilfield in Oklahoma. Substantially reduced operating costs. Wrote periodic reports and prepared EPA reports. Supervised onsite field personnel. Performed periodic production well testing. Adjusted and controlled the waterflood process to increase oil production by 15%. HOUSTON OIL & MINERALS / TENNECO MINERALS 1977 - 1982 Exploration Geologist * Established field offices in both Texas and Missouri for Mississippi Valley-Type lead-zinc exploration drilling projects. Hired multidisciplinary technical staffs of up to five employees. Supervised offices, including personnel, budgeting, drilling activities, core logging, geologic interpretations, environmental compliance, land acquisition and project presentation to management. * Identified areas of high potential for precious metals mineralization in northeastern Washington through geologic research, geologic mapping and sampling. Mapped and sampled old underground workings. Created local and regional geologic maps. These initial discoveries later resulting in the later development of the skarn-related Key-Overlook gold mines. COMINCO AMERICAN INC. 1970 - 1976 Exploration Geologist * Exploration drilling program in Tennessee-Kentucky for Mississippi Valley-Type zinc deposits. Duties involved drill supervision, core logging, carbonate facies interpretation, isopach map creation, 3D exploration model construction and project presentation to management. * Conducted several helicopter-supported mineral exploration projects in Alaska for exhalative massive sulfide deposits, sedex lead-zinc-barite (Red Dog) type deposits, epithermal gold deposits and Kennecott-type copper deposits. Alaskan projects involved camps in remote areas requiring complex logistics. Duties included planning, geologic research, budgeting, personnel supervision, geologic mapping, sampling, core drill supervision, core logging, sample QA/QC, report writing and project presentation to management.
