Contract geologist working for Uruguay Mineral Exploration in Uruguay- my duties comprised: geologic image assessment, base map confection, geologic mapping in a Proterozoic sedimentar-volcanogenic sequence named Lavalleja Group , aiming to identify(successfully) parameter to further detail exploration program for SEDEX type Pb-Zn-Ag mineralization -This area was suggested by myself to the UME and a huge area with strong evidences for this kind of mineralization was selected and presently is waiting for association( cash constraint) to go on with further exploration.

Also A geologic reconnaissance was carried out in a belt of Mafic/ultramafic association ,it was carried out a geologic mapping, rock. and pan concentrate sampling, resulting in obtaining encouraging results for PGMs and Ni.

From September up to December

Independent consultant working on behalf of CVRD, presenting potential areas in Uruguay, trying to attract investments to the just discovered areas for SEDEX deposits and other very good for gold and PGM targets. These areas are being discussed for an association with UME and some are of my own interest with others Uruguayans partners .

Implanting a Project for A Ceramic Industry arriving in Bahia-
Among my duties besides introducing the Board People (of the “Grés-Bahia Ceramica”a Group with investment capital o US$ 25.000.000,00 (composed by Italians based in South Africa and Brazilian Partners) to our Industry and Commerce Local Chamber and other State and Municipal authorities- I was in charge of selecting the existing suitable clay deposits of the Metropolitan Region of Salvador, taking into account our Industrial Unite to be implanted.
Geologic detailed mapping and evaluation of the different existing clay facies and TODA( Thermo-differential Analysis) aiming identify the quality of the available material for fine ceramic and porcelain top be produced intended aiming the European and North-American market.

From November 1999 up to May 2000

Carrying out a prospects of my own interest in the “Bacia do Recôncavo ”aiming to define the just spread rumours of gold ore related to the several “Hard Ground” horizons . It included ten claims of 1000há each, in this area , traditionally an Oil producer controlled by the “Petrobrás” our Oil--State Company.
After an intense hard ground identification program and the consequent rock sampling followed by chemical analysis which always returned values never below 14 g/ton Au, -the six months that followed caused a huge rumour and boom to the region with a never ending overwhelming of claims application for gold, till I decided to try another lab to test the confidence of the gold assays to my great surprise, none gold value above the detection limit of 5 ppb was confirmed. A process of persecution is currently running against this Laboratory.

From July 2000 up to December 2000
Implanting a Portland Cement Industry for “Companhia de Cimentos do Brasil”in the North-East portion of the State of Bahia-Brazil.

Technical duties: geologic mapping and rock sampling of the huge limestone hills aiming to select the purest faccies to be used in the production of the Portland Cement .Also locally available clay deposits were inventoried to be tested for the use for the clinker production, resulting in favourable.
Industrial tests were performed with the brittle limestone gypsum and clay moisture resulting a very fine Portland cement ,encouraging the more detailed Industrial Tests to be performed in Tzchecoslovakia , in the Industrial equipment to be used in the unit.
This Cement Industry is currently entering into production.

From November 1996 up to December 1998

General Manager of Goldstandard Inc.- Salt Lake –USA

Initially as general manager and exploration geologist controlling more than 100.000 hectares of claims mainly for gold, base metals and PGM, and managing a staff of 6 geologists,4 mining technicians , and the office staff(accountants, secretary, drawers, sample preparation lab technicians, drivers, field assistants, lawyers , contract personals etc, ) .

Due to my performance six months later I was promoted to the post of President –Director of the Uruguayan Office of its Subsidiary- the Tormin- based in the city of Trinidad , central Region of Uruguay.

As exploration geologist I performed the restudy of more than 4000 m of logs containing important gold interceptions, reinterpreted them using more modern software such as GEMCOM for Windows 98. Mapped more than 400Km² , opened more than 8Km linear of trenches and sampled more than10.000 rock samples resulting in identifying and detecting important targets for gold and base metals. As part of the exploration program were carried out soil geochemistry, ground check of geophysical anomalies with magnetometers and max-min with their respective interpretations. Petrographic studies in the Uruguayan University , as well as a field consultant was used.

After achieving in selecting 5 areas deserving further detail ( drill ) program for gold and SEDEX type Pb-Zn-AG due to the continuing gold price decrease, the Goldstandard decide to close operations in Uruguay , putting the areas opened to me to be negotiated as part of a bonus in recognition of my work.
