Underground Manager

Duties
All activities related to the efficient running of the department of mining, including labour budgeting, cost control, setting of production targets and ensuring their achievement whilst ensuring that safety standards were met/adhered to.

Achievements
1. Managed to open a new mine called Lutete which became the pillar of production at Mchenga Mines.
2. Managed to cut labour in the department from 281 to 232 and still maintained the same production level as before.

2. Ensured that there was good production levels in the mines to guarantee loan repayments
3. Organised and co-ordinated seminars/workshops for the small scale mining industry which improved relationships among the various stakeholders in the business of communal development.
4. Introduced project reviews by a credit committee, which helped in identifying projects that required technical assistance.
