OBJECTIVE: Permanent Position where my experience will be a plus. I would like to put my experience to work in Management & Operations.

Cover Letter

With over Thirty-Five years in seismic, I am interested in a Mangement or Operations position. It has been my experience that Operations Supervisors and Area Managers are very often spread to thin. They need to spend time in the office for bids, billing, marketing and operations coordinating. A Field Supervisor can be in the field, planning, implementing and expediting with Project Managers and Crew Managers communicating with Operations Supervisors and Managers, addressing potential problems before they occur without continually returning to the office. As we all know, the field is where money is made or lost. Project Managers are sometimes not experienced in all aspects of operations. I have seen many that have become Project Managers when there only background is Permitting and Crew Managers that have little field experience. Real experience with Safety, Heliportable Operations, Drilling, Recording and Surveying can only be obtained by (actual) field experience.
I started seismic with Western Geophysical, working in the summer while in school. Since that time, I have worked in Thirty-Eight states including the North Slope of Alaska and West Coast Island camp jobs, along with Liaison experience on Eight Indian Reservations, numerous BLM districts and Forest Service districts. Managed or surveyed many Extreme Heliportable 2D projects. Highest point surveyed was Blanca Peak in Colorado at 14,345'. Over Fifteen years of 3D projects ranging in size up to 200 Square miles. I have worked with many Surveying and Drilling contractors since all of my experience has been in the United States. Extensive operational experience in California and the Rocky Mountain States.
I declined a supervisory position with Trace Energy (Geokinetics) in 2002 that included relocation. My home is located in a central location for the Western and Rocky Mountain regions and I am not willing to move, although I am very willing to travel. I am exploring all options pertaining to my field experience, with a focus on Western and Rocky Mountain Operations.
My objective is to move forward to a permanent position without relocation, to a company where my field experience and interest to teach and learn, will be of value.
