Director of Environmental Affairs
Founded Earth Science & Engineering to provide solutions for environmental risk management and natural resources economic development by promoting emerging waste management and advanced rail transport technologies. Developed feasibility study and financial business plans for a proposal to acquire defunct 5,300 acre iron ore mine for a waste-energy demonstration project in Canada. Project scope included preliminary engineering evaluations for consideration in developing mine refuse aggregate equipment, forest management, aquaculture processing operations, wind farm lease option, and recreational land development. Also, developed budget estimates and permit critical path analysis to fund high speed rail projects.

Wood Group Power Operations, West Terre Haute, IN 2007 – 2008
HSE Specialist, NIPSCO - Sugar Creek Generating Station
Coordinated Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) activities for a 540 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) merchant power plant employing 20 full-time staff. As compliance specialist for a third-party operations and management (O&M) firm, responsible for strategic planning, development and implementation of HSE plans, policies, procedures and compliance programs. Routine responsibilities include air permitting and compliance reporting, continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) data management, chemical inventory reporting, water quality permit compliance and health & safety program administration. In addition, prepared responses for a successful pre-purchase audit, change of ownership transition documents and subsequent detailed environmental audits, as the client's assets were sold and ownership transferred from LS Power to Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO).

Under incumbent's guidance, the plant received the first ever President's Award, a top award for HSE excellence among nearly 30 facilities operated by Wood Group Power Operations (West).

URS Corporation, Indianapolis, IN 2000 – 2004
Unit Leader - Environmental Engineering
Team manager responsible for 5 to 10 environmental professionals and support staff. Coordinated numerous water, wastewater and industrial waste permitting, compliance and hydrogeologic investigation activities. Successfully, grew annual operations projections from $1-2 million for a $3 billion, 26,000 person professional services firm by shifting emphasis in program offerings from smaller regulatory compliance and due diligence markets to larger industrial, federal and local public sector initiatives in water resources management and an emerging power supply electric utility compliance market. Executed environmental contract administration at 230 acre Chicago area landfill. Provided cost proposals and budgetary estimates for rate increase justification, permitting and construction associated with road widening & related construction projects, closure / post-closure care projects, and gas to energy plant operations with over $7 million annual construction and operations budget.
