Summary of Experience

I have over 17 years design and operations experience in the mining industry, having worked on a variety of projects both in Australia and overseas. My primary experience includes Nickel, Gold, Copper, Lead and Tantalum. I am also very experienced in Metsim modeling.
My operations experience was gained in South Africa where I worked for Gencor on various gold plant operations including BIOX, CIP, CIL and Merrill Crowe for 5 years. I was Production Superintendent at Gencor's Winkelhaak Gold Mine in South Africa prior to moving into engineering.
My design experience commenced in 1996 when I joined Fluor South Africa. I moved with Fluor to Australia in the middle of 1997. I have been involved as lead process engineer on numerous studies and projects in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Guatemala, Zambia, the DRC and Australia. I have also been involved in the commissioning and commissioning management of various plants in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Guatemala, Bolivia and Australia.
I have held a number of technical management positions.

Specific Experience

COMPASS RESOURCES (February 2008 to Present)

STUDY MANAGER METALLURGY
Responsible for the development of a pre feasibility study for a complex polymetallic deposit located in the Northern Territory. In addition to overseeing the PFS study engineer I was responsible for coordinating, reviewing and overseeing all testwork being performed for the study and managing other sub-consultants including mine planning, water and environmental.

For a short period (2 months) I assumed the role of Metallurgical Manager for the Browns Oxide processing plant in Batchelor NT to assist with plant commissioning and operation.

FLUOR AUSTRALIA (November 2000 to January 2008)

MANAGER, PROCESS TECHNOLOGY
In October 2004 I was appointed Manager of the Process Technology Group for Australia. I had 16 process engineers and 3 designers reporting to me. My management duties include staff performance reviews, budget preparation, training, recruitment and project/study staffing. In addition to this I was involved on projects and studies at various levels as required and also assisted with proposal preparations.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER, BOZSHAKOL COPPER-MOLY PFS
Lead process engineer for the Bozshakol PFS located in Kazakhstan. The deposit comprises a large low grade Cu-Mo deposit in Kazakhstan. The expected treatment rate is 25 to 30 mtpa. Focus was on sample selection and testwork development to progress the PFS study.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER, PROMINENT HILL PROJECT
Lead process engineer for the Prominent Hill Copper project. The plant, located in South Australia, designed for 8mtpa included primary crushing, stockpiling, milling, flotation, concentrate regrind, thickening (concentrate and tails), concentrate filtration and tailings disposal.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER, FRONTIER PROJECT
Lead process engineer for the Frontier copper project. The plant, designed for 8mtpa included primary crushing, stockpiling, milling, pebble crushing, flotation, concentrate regrind, thickening (concentrate and tails), concentrate filtration and tailings disposal. Assisted with commissioning of the plant in September 2007.

COMMISSIONING MANAGER, MARLIN PROJECT
Commissioning manager for Glamis Gold's Marlin project located in Guatemala. Responsible for the successful commissioning, start up and system turnover of a 5000 tpd Gold/Silver project. Facilities include crushing, SAG/Ball milling, gravity recovery, thickening, leaching, CCD, Merrill Crowe, cyanide recovery and tailings detoxification.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
San Bartolome Silver Project
The plant, located in Bolivia at an elevation of 4200masl, is designed to process 5,400 tpd of silver ore. Facilities include crushing, scrubbing, stockpiling, SAG/Ball milling, leaching, CCD, Merrill Crowe and paste tailings disposal. Subsequently traveled to Bolivia to assist with the commissioning planning for the facility.

PROJECT MANAGER
Kansanshi Crusher Design
Project manager for the design of a 10 mtpa gyratory crusher and conveyor installation at the Kansanshi copper project located in Zambia.

PRINCIPAL PROCESS ENGINEER
Marlin Gold Project
Seconded to the Vancouver office for the Marlin EPCM project. The plant, located in Guatemala, is designed to process 5,000 tpd of gold/silver ore. Facilities include crushing, SAG/Ball milling, gravity recovery, thickening, leaching, CCD, Merrill Crowe, cyanide recovery and tailings detoxification.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
Martabe Gold Project
Lead process engineer for the Martabe Pre-Feasibility study. The study included review of all the metallurgical testwork, performing a trade-off between heap leaching and CIL treatment, and determination of capital and operating costs for a CIL plant treating 5, 7.5 and 10 Mtpa. Gold recovery was via zinc precipitation.

SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER
Goro Nickel Project
Performed a process review of the Goro Nickel Project for the pressure acid leach, CCD thickening and partial neutralization facilities.

SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER
Esquel gold project
Senior process engineer for a definitive study for the Esquel gold project located in Argentina. Responsibilities included development and management of a metallurgical testing program to fully evaluate alternate processing routes for the highly preg-robbing ore body and establishment of design parameters. Preparation of a definitive capital and operating cost estimate for 3,000 tonnes per day gold Resin in Leach plant.

LEAD AREA ENGINEER
Murrin Murrin Litigation
Responsible for the technical evaluation, review and compilation of defence of various claims made against Fluor for the Murrin Murrin Nickel project. Liased and worked with various world-renowned experts for the provision of technical assistance for the autoclave circuit. Performed operational reviews of the Acid Pressure Leach facility of the Murrin Murrin nickel plant.

COMMISSIONING ENGINEER
Target Gold Project
Responsible for preliminary commissioning of the AVGOLD Target gold plant in South Africa. The project comprised a 105,000 t/month SAG/Ball CIP circuit.

SIGNET ENGINEERING PTY LTD (Nov 1999 to October 2000)

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
Wodgina - 2.5MTPA Tantalum Project
Provided Process Engineering and design input for the development of a 10 % capital and 5% operating cost estimate for the expansion of the existing Wodgina tantalum plant. Assisted in preparing the Lump Sum proposal for construction of the same project.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
Wodgina - 3MTPA Tantalum Project
Provided Process Engineering and design input for the development of a 20 % capital cost estimate for a brownfields expansion of the existing tantalum gravity plant as well as for a greenfields tantalum plant.

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER
Wodgina - 1.7MTPA Upgrade Project
Provided Process Engineering and design input for the development of a 10 % capital and 5% operating cost estimate for the expansion of the existing Wodgina tantalum plant.
SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER
Helix Resources Vermiculite Study
Provided process assistance for the Hillview Vermiculite Study to produce a 35% capital and operating cost estimate for a vermiculite plant located in Queensland.

Murrin Murrin Project
Seconded to Anaconda as Team Leader for the commissioning of the milling circuit, 4 acid pressure leach autoclave trains, CCD and neutralisation circuit. Duties involved optimising plant DCS control logic, staff operator training, process engineering for design changes, mini-Hazop's, plant investigations and relieving as Fluor's Commissioning Ramp-up Manager.

PRE-COMMISSIONING TEAM LEADER
Murrin Murrin Project
Team Leader for all pre-commissioning activities involved with the slurry milling circuit, pressure acid leach circuit and plant fire water system. Activities included controlling construction activities to achieve pre-commissioning target dates, DCS logic and interlock testing and circuit pre-commissioning and operability checks.

PROCESS ENGINEER
Murrin Murrin Project
Process engineering for the design of the pressure acid leach circuit for Anaconda's Murrin Murrin project. Duties included process engineering calculations, PID/PFD review, Hazop's, mass balance and PDS design review.

PROCESS ENGINEER
QNI Nickel Project
Process engineering for a 25% capital and operating cost estimate for a Lateritic Nickel/Cobalt project situated in Indonesia. Duties involved PFD definition for the entire circuit, development of the metallurgical mass balance, preliminary equipment sizing and process input to the cost estimate and final report.

Responsible for the metallurgical operations in the extraction section of the gold plant. Duties included metallurgical accounting, annual and monthly budgets, production planning, plant security, metallurgical training and plant safety.

SENIOR PLANT METALLURGIST
Barberton Mines
Senior metallurgist for the Fairview metallurgical plant. Duties included metallurgical optimisation of the milling, flotation, Biox® and leach CIP circuits.
Relieved as plant superintendent on numerous occasions.
Responsible for and involved with the following projects:
* Neutralisation plant preliminary design
* Flotation reagent mixing, storage and dosing system

St Helena Gold Mine
Responsible for metallurgical optimisation, problem identification and solution implementation.
Duties included relieving as plant superintendent and plant foreman.
Was also involved in metallurgical accounting.

* Design and installation of a PLC controlled solution sampling system for the filter and Merrill Crowe section.
* Evaluated the performance of wave liners and lifter bars in both the St Helena and Beatrix mines ROM mill and presented the paper at a MMMA conference.
