* Industry experienced in mining operations, mining operation plans, environmental operations, hydrologic studies, regulatory compliance, right-of-way agreements, easements, land acquisitions, presentations, project status, maximizing revenue as well as cultivating positive customer service with professionals at all levels.
* Ensure technical compliance for entire leasing programs and pending applications with specific attention to issues such as environmental permits, budgeting, procurement, and lease extensions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

* Extensive background in mining/environmental/geotechnical consulting through effective use of client relations, research, testing and analysis skills.
* Adept at managing/conducting field investigations and preparing and presenting graphically enhanced technical reports.
* Adept at computer programs and especially proficient in MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Corel Draw, Visual ModFlow, ArcView/ArcGIS, and AutoCAD.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
ARIZONA STATE LAND DEPARTMENT – Phoenix AZ – Geologist II 2006-Present
* Coordinate and administer the leasing program, with accountability monitoring leases/applications/permits for compliance to terms, statutory requirements, environmental compliance and plans of operation.
* Write and review technical mining operations and reclamation plans.
* Ensure environmental/regulatory compliance for entire leasing program and pending applications with specific attention to compliance issues such as air permits, renewals, and lease extensions.
* In addition to producing high quality graphic representations for current leases/applications/permits, assist in maintaining and updating the GIS mineral database Sand and Gravel layers for geologic mapping and modeling uses.
* Advocates on behalf of the Arizona State Land Department Sand and Gravel Leasing program for a wide variety of land management/rezoning issues.
* Evaluate bonding and reclamation requirements for each new application while monitoring existing leases for compliance to mining plans and other submitted documents, and take corrective action as necessary.
* Conduct field examinations for exploration permits, lease applications, plans of operation and other mineral related activities, assuring program compliance.
* Conduct and write extensive mineral evaluation reports in regards to land sales, right-of-way and commercial leases, and other non-mineral lease applications.
* Prepare and make professional presentations upon data analysis and needs assessment.
* Cultivate key relationships with governmental agencies, divisions and public entities to facilitate information and issues resolution concerning exploration permits, mineral programs and special projects.
* Collaborate with the geological team in other internal issues covering diverse areas such as land-use planning, appeals, third party service provider contracts, appraisers, GIS mapping and others.

* Conducted and participated in groundwater and contaminated soil investigations, Phase 1 Assessments, Phase 2 Assessments, Environmental Site Assessments, hydrologic studies, general remediation projects, and underground storage tanks pulls.
* Performed field mapping, soil and water sampling, assessment/drilling/installation of groundwater monitoring wells and groundwater modeling for analysis of various sites.
* Selected for a number of projects including Superfund site project determining probabilities of contaminate migration.
* Analyzed data and prepared graphical and textual reports on analyses, and made presentations to clients on results.

* Geotechnical investigations for major transportation projects throughout Arizona.
* Acted as field geologist for numerous soil and/or groundwater sampling, rock coring and drilling programs.
