Responsible for: ensuring that health, safety & environmental requirements were met and coordination of field activities at drill exploration sites.
* Designed and implemented Safety Management System
* Designed and implemented site safety/environmental procedures and documents
* Primary facilitator of Tool Box meetings, risk assessments, inductions for drill crews, staff and visitors
* Contractor management including quotation and contractual documentation preparation management and ensuring OHS and environmental compliance
* Facilitated internal, and organised external OHS training for staff and contractors
* Researched regulatory requirements and advised site and senior staff of OHS/environmental and other workplace related responsibilities
* Coordination of environmental rehabilitation, and collating of corresponding data for statutory reports
* Supervision of field staff and contractors including recruitment, applicant interviewing, rostering, work duty scheduling, HSE compliance and performance management
* Participated in Aboriginal Heritage Survey – involved survey of proposed exploration areas with local tribal elders. Designated Land Owner Liaison Officer

2001 - 2002 Manager. Qld First Aid, Safety, Fire & Security Bureau Qld Core responsibility: to facilitate safety and security advice and products to business and industry.
2000 - 2001 Gold Coast Representative. St. John Ambulance – Commercial Division Qld Core responsibility: to conduct audits, provide safety & training advice and products to business and industry.
1998 - 2003 Manager. Mail Box Direct Qld Core responsibility: to facilitate logistics for Australia Post.
PROFESSIONAL FUNCTION:
To provide leadership, develop and maintain a Zero Harm safety culture by working co-operatively with management to ensure, in a cost effective manner, the organisational and employee/contractor compliance with the relevant Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) legislative requirements and the organisation's standards.
I will demonstrate a consistent, visible and proactive HSE leadership, providing technical advice and guidance to management, employees and contractors, and will ensure the establishment of a positive HSE focused culture, based on the implementation of effective systems, procedures and positive safety behaviour from all stakeholders. This will be facilitated by:
Conducting reviews, audits and inspections to identify within the organisation's HSE systems, plans and operations non-compliance with legislation and organisational requirements, and develop and implement rectification as required;
Developing and maintaining OHS and Environmental management systems and plans in compliance with relevant legislation and to Australian Standards AS/NZS4804:2001 "Occupational health and safety management systems" & ISO14004:2004 "Environmental management systems", incorporating a Risk Management Plan to the requirements of AS/NZS4360:2004 "Risk management". Also familiar with the requirements of ISO9001 "Quality Management Systems";
Creating the necessary documentation including forms and procedures to fulfil HSE requirements;
Conducting necessary activities including risk assessments, safety inductions, toolbox and safety meetings, community liaison and contractor management to fulfil HSE requirements and stakeholder relations;
Conducting needs analysis assessments, designing and delivering training and skill development to ensure staff and contractors perform tasks safely and are aware of their legal and organisational HSE obligations, and that all training materials and learning outcomes are documented and
Perform all duties to time bound plans of action cost effectively within budgetary limits adhering to organisational requirements and expectations while providing innovative practical solutions to meet the organisations needs.

Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety (BSB51604) study in progress through the National Safety Council of Australia. Commenced 2008.
Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (BSB41407) competencies have been assessed and approved by the National Safety Council of Australia 2008
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104). Next Training 2009. Certification pending.
Qld Workplace Health & Safety Officer training. Dept of Workplace Safety (Qld) accredited authorisation. Training through the National Safety Council of Australia. 2009. Accreditation pending.
