Report to : QGII- PMT (a joint venture between Qatar Gas-Qatar and Exxon Mobil- USA)
Position : Civil / Concrete Quality Control Engineer.
Project : Qatar Gas II LNG Facilities Project at Qatar (Cost: 4000 Million US$).
Duties :
I am responsible about ensuring that all Concretes and Grouts are properly produced, tested, placed, cured, repaired and protected, over the entire project (Onshore & Offshore) with 3 main civil subcontractors, through:
* Ensure that batching plants and laboratories’ equipments are being calibrated up to date.
* Ensure a proper operation of the batching plants and a correct / adequate storage of the raw materials.
* Apply a quality control program for testing of concrete ingredients, fresh concretes and hardened concretes.
* Ensure that tests are being done in a proper way, according to the approved frequency and that the results are complying with the specifications.
* Control the quality of all Pouring, Finishing, Curing, Repairing and Protection activities for concretes and grouts works.
* Record areas of malfunction (through issuing NCR s, CAR s, MEMO s or SR s), investigate the reasons, develop / review proposed corrective actions and follow up the application of the correction actions.
* Review / comment technical documents (MSP, MAR, CR, Mix designs…) both issued by our own or by our subcontractors and communicate with concerned parties for their approval.
* Review/ comment subcontractors’ concrete quality documentations system.
* Organize / Attend technical meetings for better communications and arrangement.
* Perform regular audits for our subcontractor’s batching plants and laboratories.
* Maintain all inspection's, information & Drawings files accurate, complete and updated.
* Report to the owner about all the above mentioned points.

Professional History:
1- From: December 2004 till August 2006
Organization: NHBJV (a joint venture between Vinci-France, Bilfinger Berger-Germany and Orascom-Egypt).
Position : Civil Quality Control Engineer → QA/QC Deputy Manager.
Project : New Naga Hammadi Barrage and Hydropower Plant (Cost: 340 Million €).
Duties :
I- Civil Quality Control Engineer:-
* Control the quality of all civil work activities for 2 main project’s sections: 1) Navigation Looks & Mooring Structures 2) Public Bridge which includes:
Excavation and installation of pore pressure cell network, soil compaction and testing, surveying, plain and reinforced concretes, fabrication and installation of pre cast concrete, 2ed stage concretes and grouting works, concrete repair works, welding and driving works of piles for the mooring structures, welding and installation of steel structures for the mooring structures and finishing works for concrete and steel structures.
* Coordinate contractor’s / subcontractor’s site inspection activities.
* Report about quality areas of concern for all civil works and react to site complaints.
* Ensure proper coordination with electrical and mechanical contractors for best quality works completion.
* Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying and other concerning parties regarding technical quarries, field change orders, concession requests…
* Maintain all inspection's, information & drawings files accurate, complete and updated.
II- QA/QC Deputy Manager:-
* Quality control coordination.
* Update / follow-up quality assurance documentations.
* Revise and comment civil technical documents.
* Responsible about internal auditing for: laboratories, batching plant, steel yard, stores…
* Prepare the technical quality reports.
* Prepare qualification tests and trainings for personals and keep them updated on new techniques.
* Attend project and other relevant meetings.

2- From: February 2004 till: November 2004
Organization: Soluziona ‘Union Fenosa professional servicies’-Spain
Position : Civil QA/QC Engineer + HSE Manager.
Project : L N G Plant at Damietta Port (Cost: 1300 Million US$) / Installation of permanent telecommunications and security systems.
Duties :
I- Civil QA/QC Engineer:
* Control the quality of all civil work activities, for the project’s14 telecommunication and security systems, which include: reinforced concrete foundations and cable ducts, metallic fences and gates installation, steel tower installation, supporting steel structures fabrication and installation and grouting works.
* Coordinate with the civil contractor and project’s main contractor for all civil related issues.
* Recognize interfaces with other sub contractors, find solutions, follow their status and report about them.
* Maintain all inspection's, information & drawings files accurate, complete and updated.
II- HSE Manager:-
* Develop Safety Plan, Manual, Procedures and Documentation System.
* Develop Risk Assessment for work activities, when necessary.
* Develop Safety Organization Chart, Identify responsibilities matrix.
* Prepare Safety training courses for employees and update them on new safety techniques.
* Prepare Daily / Weekly/ Monthly Safety reports.
* Monitor and control all work site activities in order to ensure they met the Safety procedures requirements.
* Investigate of accidents, incidents, near misses and report about them.
* Implement emergency response procedures and site evacuation plans and train employees accordingly.
* Implement COSHH (Control of Substances Hazarders to Health) and MSDS applications.
* Ensure all site activities doesn’t cause any environmentally pollutions and apply corrective actions if happen.

3- From: June 2002 till: January 2004
Organization: Orascom Construction Industries-Egypt
Position : Civil Engineer.
Project : L N G Plant at Damietta Port (Cost: 1300 Million US$); Gas Loading Jetty and Buildings
Duties :
* Manage the construction activities and ensure that quality, planning and safety requirements are met for:
1) Gas Loading Jetty: welding and driving of steel tubular piles, fabrication and installation of pre-cast concrete elements, execution of cast in site reinforced concrete decks and assembling and installation of the steel catwalks.
2) 2 electrical substation buildings: excavation; substructure works (concretes, insulation and backfilling), superstructure concrete works and finishing works.
* Review of civil, architectural and electromechanical design and shop drawings.
* Communicate with the technical office department for the deviations between design and application.
* Review Quantity Survey sheets and BOQ for subcontractors.
* Ensure adequate material and manpower requirements for each activity according to a time schedule.
* Coordinate interfaces with other sub contractors, find solutions for identified issues.
* Prepare technical training courses for technicians and labor to improve their work quality / efficiency.
* Ensure that workers are aware by safety instructions and keep them well trained accordingly.
* Apply the HSE regulations in the proper way.
* prepare daily/ weekly/ monthly reports for project execution management team.

4- From: December 1999 till: May 2002
Organization : Tiran Group for Real Estate Development-Egypt.
Position : Civil Engineer (Owner Representative)
Project : New Tower Hotel & Neama Shopping Mall at Sharm El Shaikh (150 Million US$).
Duties :
* Follow up the design stages and coordinate between owner and design offices.
* Supervise all construction and finishing works for: 200 chalets, 16 villas, swimming pool, 2 restaurants, reception building, 8 ground water tanks, roman stage, all landscapes works and the Shopping Mall.
* Control the quality of all Construction and Finishing works and ensure they met technical specifications.
* Maintain all inspections, information and drawing's files updated.
* Coordinate for work completion between architectural, civil and electro mechanical departments.
* Revise contractor’s quantity survey sheets and Invoices.
* Prepare the required technical reports concerning quality of civil works.
* Perform auditing for contractors and suppliers.
5- From: August 1998 till: November 1999
Organization : Consultant Engineering Office-Egypt and ABB-Czech Republic Joint Venture
Position : Civil Engineer (Consultant Representative)
Project : Central Steam Power Station at Hawamdia Sugar Company (Cost: 120 Million US$).
Duties :
* Monitor all civil work activities at site to check they met codes and specifications which include: pored piles, raft foundation and isolated footings, concrete turbine set, steel super structures (out line framed hanger and internal multi story steel building), finishing steps for concrete and steel works and installation works for overhead crane
* React to site complaints.
* Responsible about testing activities which include:
- Factory tests for fabrication of steel structures elements.
- Field tests for piles bearing capacity, soil inspection, fresh concretes and installation of steel elements.
- Laboratory tests for concrete ingredients, hardened concretes and finishing materials.
* Revise percentage of execution, quantities surveying sheets and monthly payments.
* Coordinate with owner and contractor for clarifying unclear civil technically related issues.
* Check deviations between design and application and inform the necessary departments of any new design details, materials and equipment changes.
