The Company's Lac des Iles open pit mine, with throughput exceeding 15,000 tonnes per day is located 85 kilometers northwest of Thunder Bay in Northern Ontario, and also produces platinum, gold, copper and nickel as by-products.

Supervised 2 employees on blast crew and 2-4 employees on drill crew, blasting production holes and pre-sheer holes in open pit mining operation.

Oversaw drill procedure, selected and placed explosives according to blast map schedule.

Managed all safety issues and attended weekly/monthly safety meetings with team members.

Utilized JKSimBlast software program to simulate drill blast prior to actual operations.

Organized drills to ensure drilling was completed in a safe manner, with prescribed distance maintained between drills and explosives.

Recommended alternate method of drilling for anchors in sluice gates on Pine Portage Hydro Dam. Utilized underground equipment (Stoper Drill and Jack Leg) rather than coring drills, reduced completion time from estimated 4 weeks to 1 week, eliminated 5 labour positions and saved company over $40,000.

Selected as one of 3 members from Northern Ontario as special advisor (in theory and practical training aspects) to meet with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Sudbury, ON regarding requirements for proposed Blasting Certification for the Province of Ontario.
