Employment History 05/2006 – Present Skelair International Limited Explosives Supervisor I am responsible for the day-to-day operations for the various sites that the company operate on, including managing the staff. I am also responsible for the control of the explosives and preparing the Blast Specification Sheets for the shotfirers. I have responsibility for the Health and Safety obligations and for the all records which we are required to maintain, including stock, etc. My role with Skelair allows me to further develop my management skills whilst maintaining the high level of technical competence required to work in this industry. The company operate throughout the UK and my job takes me to various parts of the country. 04/2005 - 05/2006 Rocklift Limited Driller/Shotfirer (Blaster) I was responsible for the drill and blast operations and health and safety considerations for a wide range of civil engineering contracts including; Quarries, road cuts (pre-split), pipelines, shafts and tunnels. I was also responsible for the preparation of the Blast Specifications. In addition to this, I was responsible for the ordering of stock and the maintenance of appropriate records. I left this employment to take up an opportunity that enabled me to expand my management responsibilities whilst still maintaining my technical skills. 02/2005 – 04/2005 Albion Drilling Services Limited Driller/Shotfirer (Blaster) This was a short term contract, where I was responsible for the Drilling and Blasting operations on a barge and causeway for the Harbour widening and deepening project in Cora Mara, Ireland. In addition, I was responsible for the drilling crews, movement of explosives and the preparation of blast specifications. 02/1999 - 04/2005 J Fenton & Sons (Contractors) Limited Shotfirer (Blaster) I was responsible for the day-to-day drilling, blasting and health and safety operations on a large opencast coal site for Scottish Coal. Responsibilities also included ordering and control of all stock requisitions. I also gained extensive experience in the use of a wide range of heavy equipment including: Dump Trucks, Wheel Loading Shovels, Diggers etc. 03/1997 – 02/1999 Rockblast UK Limited Shotfirer (Blaster) I was responsible for the drilling and blasting operations on a large opencast site. Responsibilities also included ordering and control of all stock requisitions. Additional Information I spent much of my early life in Liberia, West Africa, where my father was a civil engineer. It was here that I gained an interest in drilling, blasting and mining and I spent a great deal of time learning some of the tools of the trade from both my father and other LAMCO colleagues. I appreciated and enjoyed growing up in a multi-cultural environment and gained an understanding of many customs. This has led to my continued enjoyment of a variety of worldwide destinations and I would be very interested in employment opportunities that facilitated and expanded this. I am a low handicap golfer and play when I get the opportunity. I also enjoy spending time in my garden. I have recently taken up open water diving.
