Then transferred to Verwoerd Dam and installed and commissioned hydro electrical turbines 400MW working in conjunction with Toshiba and Fuji. In 1977 I was head hunted by Frazer and Chalmers as Site Foreman responsible for the installation and commissioning of Present Steyn, President Brand and Free State Geduld. Flotation plants, CIP/CIL plants, Acid Plants and Calcine Plants, having 16 electricians 4 welders 8 fitters and a team of cable hand s and laborers. After completion and handover of the above, Free State Geduld Mine offered me a position as Charge Hand/ Electrical Foreman in the Flotation and Gold Plant; I upgraded the HT on the milling section and installed all new switchgear in the substations. Having 4 electricians 10 assistants. This included the mechanical department, installing new rail ore bin complete with conveyors and gyrating crushers [primary and secondary]. Was transferred to Anglo Gold Vaal river operations/Moab in 1985 to install and commission 2x DC Siemens winders 1x AC variable speed winder, all shaft cables. During which time I studied for my Wireman's License and completed various courses see diplomas achieved, responsible for Planning, Leading, Organizing and Controlling of workers and budgets as well as Safety and loss Control.
