Career aims

Having undertaken a degree in Applied Geology at the Camborne School of Mines and a variety of work placements in the mining industry, I would like to develop my career as an exploration geologist, ideally working on a variety of projects and ore deposit types worldwide in order to gain a wide knowledge base and a maximum level of experience.

* Wireframing and block modeling of ore bodies using Datamine Studio 3 software.
* Resource estimation using Datamine with exposure to variography and data analysis.
* Knowledge of JORC and 43-101 standards for reporting exploration and resource results.

Barrick Gold Corporation (Australia Pacific) Vacation Student – Exploration Geology
Kalgoorlie, WA, Australia 23rd June 2008 – 19th September 2008

* Supervising a 9,500 m aircore drilling program.
* Logging of regolith weathered profiles and mafic fresh rock, from aircore chips.
* Conducting sampling during the program and supervising submission of samples to assay laboratory.
* Management of exploration database.
* Sampling and logging on an RC drill program. Holes of 100m+ depth with 1 meter riffle split samples implemented for second stage resource drilling.
* Working as part of the exploration team on a range on exploration and resource projects in a remote and demanding environment.

SRK Exploration Ltd Geological Assistant
Hemerdon, Devon, United Kingdom 6th August 2007 – 12th September 2007

* Approximate 6 week project re-logging core from a 1980's exploration by Amax INC.
* Logging in a Granite/metasediment environment for low-grade wolframite (tungsten) and cassiterite (tin) deposits.
* Main duties were to assist the senior geologist in logging of the core. Removing core boxes from racks and piecing together destroyed and rotten boxes. After logging has taken place duties included photographing and archiving the core and re-sampling 10% of the approximate 13,000 meters.
* Gained expansive experience in the field of exploration. Including using Logmate software on PDA's and archiving photos and exploration data. Also working with difficult broken and missing cores.

Skills and achievements

* Proficient in MS Office, Basic AutoCAD skills, proficient in use of Datamine Studio 2 and 3, Logmate, Aquire, ArcGIS.
* Working level French, basic Spanish language skills.
* 4x4 driving training.
* Exposure to scanning electron microscope and x-ray fluorescence analytical techniques.
* Excellent report writing skills.
