CAREER SUMMARY

Having worked for Caterpillar Dealerships and in the mining industry since 1978 in several countries, some of which were hardship postings (Nigeria, Liberia, Tanzania, Vietnam & Mongolia) I have developed a good knowledge of the Caterpillar systems and procedures.

During these postings I have had vast experience in dealing with the problems that can arise from dealing with Government agency's such as Customs and local licensing authorities in these underdeveloped countries, and of course staff who are not trained to, or used to working to Caterpillar standards. These postings required a great deal of self-sufficiency.

My performance and results have been characterized by my ready acceptance of challenge and responsibility. Through my employment experience and training I am fully equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge to perform all the managerial and technical tasks required of me to a very high standard.

One of my strong points lies in my ability both to relate and communicate with people of different nationalities and cultures. In dealing with others, I try to be non-judgmental and even handed in my approach, and I believe this allows me to establish a good relationship with both staff and clients easily.

Possessing a positive attitude, I am committed and have an enthusiastic approach to achieving goals set for me by the company and also goals set by myself. As an experienced senior service / product support manager, I possess a high level of organizational skills, and the ability to meet objectives and deadlines in a professional and competent manner.
