TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
After completing my professional qualification from IIT- Roorkee, I joined in the Mineral Resources Division (Exploration wing of the company) of The Associated Cement Companies Limited through Campus interview as Senior Geologist and at present working as Asst. Manager – Geology.

In these nine years I had completed successfully more than fourteen geological assignments covering almost all regions and Geological environments of India.

Although I am in cement industry but I had got several opportunities to work in different mineral exploration projects (Diamond, Iron, Chromite, Base Metal etc.) apart from Limestone exploration and that too with some of the renowned multinationals viz. Rio Tinto for Diamond and Iron ore, Phelps Dodge for Base metal, Australian Indian Resources for Gold.

The Job involves Project Planning, Project Costing, Selection of manpower, Supervision of field work involving survey, Geological and Structural mapping, drilling with state of art drill rigs viz. Hydro44 (Canadian rig), UDR 650 RC Drill (Australian rig), GD 42(S), DM 625 etc, sampling, analysis, Infield computerization, Validation of large databases data management and processing, usage of mining software viz. Datamine/SURPAC for raw data entry, compositing, digital terrain modelling (DTM), wireframing, variography, geostatistical estimation and preparation of reports. Graphical outputs for various industries concerning feasibility and overall running of the industry, and geological report writing.

Experience in Iron ore:

I have carried out more than nine projects of Iron ore as Project In Charge.

- Detailed Geological investigation including ore body modelling for various mines of Essel Mining & Industries Ltd (Aditya Birla Group), Jilling, Keonjhar dist. Presently mining is being carried out on the basis of report and slice plan.
Recently carried out the detailed Quality study for Iron ore in all the mines of Essel and presently working on ore body modelling. Apart from the current assignment so far I have handled three different exploration projects of different mines. Based on my Geological report they have increased the mining capacity to multifolds.
- Drilling, Logging & sampling for M/s Rio Tinto Exploration (I) Ltd in their Malangtoli & Gandhamardan area of Keonjhar dist,.
- Detailed Geological investigation for Aryan Mining Trading Corporation, Koira, Sudergarh Dist.
- Drilling, logging & sampling for OMDC, Roida and Thakurani, Keonjhar dist.
- Drilling & logging for Eastern India Minerals private ltd at Roida, Keonjhar dist.
- Drilling & logging for Sree Metallcks at Koira and Joda area, Orissa.
- Drilling & logging for VM Salgaonkar's private ltd at Koira, Sundergarh dist, Orissa.
- Detailed Geological investigation at IDCOL Kalinga iron ore limited, Orissa which includes survey, drilling, logging, sampling and report

Also presented one paper on Iron Ore in International Seminar on Technology update in Mining & Mineral Industries held at IISc Bangalore. The topic name was:

"Need Of Rapid Results In Iron Ore For Speedy Strategic Decisions"

Experience in Petroleum:

I have done two specilaization courses during my M.Tech viz. Petroleum Geology, Geophysical Well Logging, Applied Geophysics which includes seismic survey, IP survey, Electromagnetic survey etc. Also I did my six months Project work based on Interpretation of Gephysical Well log curves and its automation. I was also got training in ONGC-Dehradun to execute the Project.

I have undergone training from Zonge Engineering - USA for operating the Geophysical Instruments.

Experience in Diamond & Gold:

- I have been involved in the Prospecting and Soil/Gravel sampling work of Diamond and Gold for M/s Rio Tinto Exploration Pvt. Ltd. in and around Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. I have received appreciation letter for the job done. The work was carried out with extensive use of the latest scientific gadgets viz. Global Positioning System (GPS), Palm top computers, latest softwares on GIS etc.
- Drilling and Sampling job for Gold exploration at Kolar for Australian Indian Resources.

Other Projects Experience:

- Rock mass study for Sukinda Chromite belt - TISCO. The work was appreciated despite adverse working conditions. Received repeat order.
- Twice involved in the drilling camps for Base Metal study at Rajasthan for M/s Phelps Dodge Expl. (I) Ltd. Received appreciation letter from client's Consultant.
- Logging & Sampling job of bauxite for M/s Ashapura Minerals.
- Also, I have working knowledge of the preparation of beads to carry out the analysis of major and minor oxides with the help of X-ray florescence. Carried out the analysis of about 200 samples (both soil & Limestone) for Hima Cement (Lafarge group) – Uganda (Africa) at ACC-R&D department.
- Also involved in the Whiteness analysis test for Talc-Magnesite project at Sudan (Africa) for Gandil Mining, a Multinational company from Saudi Arabia.
- Worked in various Limestone areas of ACC and other major cement companies viz. Grasim Cement, Zuari Agro, Madras Cements etc. Carried out exploration work from Greenfield to mining stage which involves ore body modelling and reporting as well.

The exposure to various renowned world and Indian mining companies has given me unique opportunity in adapting the recent trends in exploration activities, to understand the systematic & planned methodology of work plus knowledge of international safety standards.

Liaison Work

I have been involved in liasioning job for the filing / follow up of PLs amd MLs in different state and central government departments. Follow up with IBM regarding the Mine Plan and other jobs.

Also I had been the In-charge of ACC's Logistics Base at Nagpur for more than six months and was responsible for material & manpower management, inventory control, logistics and general administration.

In execution all the assignments, I have gained in appreciating factors which pave for the most effective and early completion of projects like economic viability of projects, time utilisation, identifying manpower resources and there effective utilisation, interaction with various government officials and clients etc.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Post Graduation – M.Tech (3 years – 1995) in Applied Geology – Indian Institute of Technology – Roorkee. Total %tage of Marks – 72%
Graduation - B.Sc (Hons – 1992) from Banaras Hindu University with Geology as Honours subject and Physics and Maths as Subsidiary subject. Total %tage of Marks – 71%
CLASS XII - From Kendriya Vidyalaya with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English and Hindi subjects. Total %tage of marks – 76.5%
CLASS X - From Kendriya Vidyalaya in Science stream. Total %tage of marks – 67%
Presently doing the Diploma in Business Management from NMIMS, Mumbai. Already cleared 3 papers successfully.
